The food was good. But the service was bad. So bad. We have been here twice.
1st time: They never came and asked us for refills. We ordered appetizers. Never got them. We got our food first, and was almost finished... When they brought out appetizers. They were cold. Not just like luke warm, but actually COLD. They kept forgetting to bring part of my 4 year olds dinner. So they brought it 10 minutes later than her food...I think she felt bad, so she brought an extra juice for my daughter, and took the appetizers off our bill. Because we know she felt bad, we still tipped. We tipped 20 dollars.
2nd Time: (Yesterday): the place was empty, no one sat us down. It took about 10 minutes for someone to come sit us down. I knew this was a bad sign... (It was)... The waiter was a nice guy, but left us hanging a lot. Because it took so long for them to sit us down, the appetizers were not half price anymore. He even mentioned it to us. I said I know, I tried to order another deal, which he took off and didnt let me order. So when he came back 10 minutes later I ordered it...The appetizers came fast this time! The man took forever to bring us our drinks. My two year old kept looking at me and asked for juice?? My husband paid 15 dollars for the endless riblets which he didnt come up and check on us once. My food, and the kids were finished.. When I finally grabbed someone she went and grabbed him, and he asked us what's up. I was so surprised. I said he wants another riblet.. Sp he ordered it, didnt asked if we wanted anything else. At this point I was tired, and I knew I wouldnt see him for another 10 minutes, so when brought the riblets back out I had to ask for a list of things, the check was wrong, I needed a new drink (he never once asked me if I wanted another one, and to go boxes... My husband and I agreed to give him 15 dollar tip which 7 dollars more than 20%, only because we could see that he was trying. And my husband has more sympathy than me. But I think this is the last time we come here. There is a lot of other business in red bluff that we will be giving out business too. Each time we spent around 70 to 80 dollars, and got...
Read moreThe Red Bluff Applebee's is one of my favorite all-round restaurants. There's something for everyone, including those of us who are health-conscious! My favorite dishes include the Oriental Chicken Salad (get it with grilled chicken), the Strawberry Balsamic Chicken Salad (probably the healthiest choice overall) and the fairly new Quesadilla Chicken Salad. (I had it the first day it was added to the menu and have ordered it many times since!) The Irresist-a-Bowls (registered trademark) are good too and fairly low in calories if you're counting! The Blackened Shrimp Caesar Salad is good as well. (My dining partner orders it often!) I try to eat as healthy as possible when dining out, so I can't speak for any of the red meat dishes, steaks, burgers, etc., but the grilled chicken breast dinners I've had are good. For an occasional "guilty pleasure" pasta dish, try the Classic Blackened Shrimp Alfredo. And don't overlook the dinner deals on the back of the menu. Two for a special price and that comes with either two dinner salads or one appetizer to share. The dinner salads are substantial in their own right! Of course, they are a full bar, but since I don't consume alcohol I can't speak for the mixed drinks, but they sure look good, LOL! All of the servers are very personable, and the young lady manager is very pleasant and accommodating. The best time to go is mid to late afternoon, before the dinner crowd. There may only be one server during those times, but I've never had any issues. And in my experiences, the wait time for food is reasonable. There's usually plenty of seating (both tables and booths) as well as plenty of parking. (Sometimes there's trash and/or broken glass in the lot, so be cautious.) The restaurant and bathrooms are clean from what I've observed. Finally, be advised they do charge a 2% credit card usage fee, which as you may know, since becoming legal, more restaurants...
Read moreThis place is great -- really good food, at really good prices. I ordered a Classic Cheeseburger with fries, two kids grilled cheese sandwiches, each with side of cole slaw (substituting for french fries), and an extra side order of onion rings. It all cost about $30, and the quality of the food was top notch. The beef they use for their hamburgers is super lean and practically melts in your mouth, and the patty is Big -- at least two inches thick. The grilled cheese was delicious and they make a great, fresh cole slaw. I ordered the food to go, but the dining areas looked clean and inviting, and they have a beautifully decorated bar in the center of the restaurant. I was chatting with a local patron who told me they make a trip over here every weekend to enjoy their signature margaritas...."that are to die for". I didn't get her name, but my server was welcoming, and extremely patient with me as I asked her about the various items on the menu I was curious about. My receipt had the name Baily written at the top, and the management should know what a terrific representative she is for your restaurant. I can recommend this Applebee's to anyone looking for a restaurant that's friendly, with cozy ambiance, terrific food, and fair prices. Bring your family -- 10 star rating...
