Pop’s Classic Diner — Restaurant in Redding

I feel a lot better when Mel is on shift...the gentleman who was on Sunday was not authentic or enthusiastic like Mel, otherwise was good breakfast...hot tasty breakfast....coffee good..Ludwig did good job as usual..staff helpful and polite.... customers like coffee as a diner experience...come around more often... establishment clean.. seating comfortable...kudos to Mel for opening a business...she has the drive and just stay focused. PS always a riddle of the day posted when you walk in. I really hope Mel and crew succeed so come on down...bring the kiddies to Pop's dinner for a nice breakfast or lunch and if lucky you can even see a train pass by ...kids love that stuff...if you can bring music just a notch would be perfect..best of...

It's great to have a standard, family-friendly diner like this back in the neighborhood. The fact that it's basic and affordable is part of the charm. Food was very good, cooked perfectly. The hash browns were basic with crunchy and soft bits, eggs were tasty, probably medium size. Standard sandwich-size toast with real butter. Coffee was good too, served in small cups. Basic diner decor with large and small benches and a few counter seats. Service was super friendly and attentive (don't forget to give us cream with our coffee). Surprised this place has high reviews. Stopped for a quick breakfast on the way to a lake, and it was terrible. The food wasn’t great, but the real issue was our server who had a terrible attitude. She aggressively took my plate from me and had an attitude when I told her I no longer wanted the side of fruit she brought out super late (I asked for the fruit as a side to my omelette , and she brought it out way after we already finished our meal. Def not paying...
