YOU WILL WANT 'TOGO' SOMEWHERE ELSE. Nothing special, I'm sorry to say. Not terrible, but there are better choices in Redding. CONS: *Like Subway, they require payment up front. Way to disrespect your customers, guys. Strike One! (But unlike Subway, this place still accepts cash. At least until our globalist lizard overlords revoke our privileges.) *Unlike certain other sandwich places, they do NOT bake their own bread on site! Strike Two! It's shipped in from their supplier and placed in the freezer until needed. (But unlike Subway, they do have sourdough bread, so there's that.) *I actually didn't mind the chewy bread, though it's probably not everyone's cup of tea, and it tasted fine. So the Strike Three would have to be the too-thin layers of meat and vegs, and especially the overall lack of real flavor. It was the least spicy Italian sub I've ever had anywhere, probably. Bummer. PROS: *You'd have to nitpick to find any. Conclusion: Here again, the chains don't hold a candle to the local delis and mom & pop sandwich shops for the most part, when it comes to flavor and freshness, the most important elements of a good 'wich. So, as with so many products and services, stick with non-corporate for the best results. Of course, you could shop here only for take out, then add more (tastier) elements to your sandwich when you get home, which pretty much defeats the purpose. So yeah,...
Read moreWent to the new Togos on Placer Rd. yesterday for the first time since they opened. My order was for two sandwiches to go. I gave the young lady the order and had to repeat my bread choice 3 times n, then had to repeat the meat choice (basic turkey + Swiss) 2 times. Just mayo, pepperoncini. Since she was so confused with the first order I ordered The Italian and told her to just give me the condiments that were on the menu for this particular sandwich as to not put any undue stress on her. Got home and there wasn’t any mayo on the turkey/Swiss sandwich and the amount of turkey was skimpy to say the least and then there were three huge pepperoncinis (usually sliced thinly on any deli sandwich) sitting atop the turkey. Swiss cheese was nowhere to be seen. The young lady taking care of my order was definitely not in the game. Got home and both sandwiches tasted of day old bread and the turkey tasted of meat left out uncovered overnight. Will...
