I love ice cream. One fateful day, I was made aware that I am lactose intolerant. I won’t scar anyone with how I found out. I was devastated that soft serve wouldn’t be an option. I can tolerate a little cheese here and there or desserts with lactaid. I tried soft serve near me, hoping I can handle it. I couldn’t. I was absolutely shredded and devastated. That was when my friend recommended I look at the menu here. I had loved the ice cream here as a kid, but would never had expected a vegan menu in this area. I usually find that in a big city that has lots of allergen options. I was floored. I have never met such a great vegan menu in ice cream flavors. They can do anything. They don’t have a basic chocolate and vanilla option to appease people who are here with others. The ice cream is crafted well, thought out, and creamy. Even having moved fairly far for ice cream, I make my way out here just for it. I try to get here when I’m close. I got so excited to eat the whipped cream (also vegan) that I forgot to get a picture of the beautiful swirl before I ate it. It’s full and beautiful and chunky and creamy. Thank you Dairy Whip!!

“Vegan” flavors are not suitable for those with dairy allergy! The counter clerk did notify us when ordering and I informed her we have a true dairy allergy in our party that there is cross contamination in their kitchen so none of their “vegan” flavors are actually guaranteed to be dairy free. When we asked for more details she indicated that the vegan soft serve is a dedicated vegan machine. We decided that sounded like reasonable risk and had a small taste. Within one bite of vanilla “vegan” soft serve ice cream, our dairy-allergic person had angioedema and severe itching. Please beware if you have a true allergy and not just an ethical, non-allergy health or personal reason for pursuing a vegan ice cream- THIS IS NOT SAFE. I would rate this place higher if it were an honest mistake but since there is such heavy advertising for vegan flavors I felt like it was false advertising. If it’s enough dairy cross contamination to cause anaphylaxis, it’s not really vegan is it!

I love this place. I come by so often because it is in my neighborhood, and it is hard to resist a place like this being down the street. I have a dairy allergy on top of being lactose intolerant. You would think that would rule out a place like this for me, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. They have a wide array of offerings and the staff is so pleasant. My favorite item is the real lemon slush, but I can enjoy their dairy free ice creams and their soda flavors at any given time. I also got my dog a pup cup for his birthday, and they wrote happy birthday on the container, which was sweet. Dairy whip really is the highlight of our neighborhood, and I love what the owners snd staff do.

I will start off by saying this. I do have a soft spot for small "Mom & Pop" independently owned and operated businesses, so I was beyond delighted when moving to the area to see that a place like this is still going strong. But this isn't about my "Mom & Pop" soft spot, it's about what you can expect when and if you decide to visit this place.

This location offers a couple different ways to indulge in your favorite sweet treats. Like most ice cream places, you can walk up to a window and order whatever you'd like. Here, you can also take a trip through their drive thru—which as you know not all ice cream places have. In my personal opinion this is a big plus for the same reasons a drive thru at any place is a plus—though I will say the one here gets pretty packed, so definitely prepare to wait in line if you don't feel like getting out of your car to order.

Since you can't "dine in" here, we can obviously skip all of the jazz about how clean it is, the bathrooms, etc, etc...because I have no idea about any of that. What I do know is that this place boasts some of the friendliest employees that I have come across in this town. Everyone that I have dealt with here is super kind and attentive. I've also never had an order discrepancy here. Everything always seems to be just right—and always delicious.

There is an extra special bonus about this place that you would only know of if you've been here. They do have a few special "treats" that you might only other wise find on an ice cream truck. To see exactly what I mean you'll have to find out for yourself—but it might just involve a "screwball" of sorts.

With that being said, if you have the choice of going to one of your local corporate chain ice cream joints, or this place—obviously go here. You...

My family of 5 visits Dairy Whip frequently and we always have a great experience. The staff is friendly and the area is clean. We have used the drive through as well as the walk up service. Walk up is usually faster if the drive through line has more than 4-5 vehicles waiting, so we prefer that option when the weather is nice. Our family of five has different dietary needs. Three of us avoid dairy for health reasons and we have enjoyed Dairy Whips abundant vegan options. We visit many ice cream shops in Michigan while camping and haven't found another place that offers as many vegan choices as Dairy Whip! My young son has an anaphylactic peanut and tree nut allergy. We are aware of the risk we take when we allow him to eat anything outside our home and we always carry two epipens at all times. Dairy Whip has numerous signs warning of cross contamination and risks associated for individuals with allergies. I have spoken with the staff to discuss what maybe the safest option for anyone with nut allergies. After learning more about their menu and ice cream making process we have decided to only allow him to order ice cream from the vanilla or chocolate soft serve machine. We always make his nut allergy known before placing the order and the staff kindly wears gloves to make it. He usually requests it on a cone or a cone on top, which we are also comfortable with. We do not allow him to have any extra toppings or dips due to the beey high risk of cross contamination. We often bring a baggie of crushed Oreos from home to sprinkle on ourselves before he enjoys it. Dairy Whip is pet friendly! The staff loves to see pets! They offer doggie ice cream treats, too! We will continue to recommend Dairy Whip to our...

It was a horrible experience with your manager, Meghan. We ordered a piña colada slush with vanilla ice cream added. That should have been bended in together by even explaining to the employee.. “Something like the ones that sonic make! So when my husband received it. It was incorrect. He simply asked them to possibly remake it and that’s when Meghan the manager came out and was rude talking to my husband any type of way. Seeing that we had just gotten out of church I asked for the owners name and number, she refused I even offered to leave my name and number she refused and told me to contact them via Website only for this was the only way. I really didn’t want to come on social media considering I wanted to give the owner the benefit of the doubt making her aware of Meghan’s performance and how she speaks with customers. If the owner is reading this, I just want to let you know that I did leave my Large Float their. I would very much like to have my money refunded, and if Able have a conversation with you as soon as possible. For I do send a lot of business your way from the PAL organization, and little league. I visit your location at least 2-3 times a week!! Update: I called back to dairy Web and asked if they would tell the manager to check the review. The young lady that I spoke with which I assumed her name was Megan stated oh it was me and her name is not Meghan. It’s really sad when you hire employees that can destroy, your business!!! her statement was that they don’t give out their names for security purposes. I explained to her that she’s working in a community. How secure could this possibly be?? What a...
