Jokers 4 Fun — Local services in Redford Township

I rented one of their water slides for my little cousins to finish out the summer with a bang. Just a few issues I would like to note. When I called to rent I spoke with both Katelyn and Brandie. They were really sweet, answered any questions I had and worked with me even when I needed to move the initial date due to inclement weather. I was told over the phone that the day of I would receive a call from the workers letting me know when they were on their way. My renting time was 1pm-7pm. They arrived around 12:30pm (which was great!), however they did not call before hand, regarding when they would arrive. Also, we weren't sure if they were from Jokers 4 Fun as they pulled up in a regular pick-up truck with a trailer attached that had no logo. We assumed they were regular lawn mowers until they went straight into my aunts backyard without ever ringing the front door or notifying me they had arrived. They started scoping out the area to set up without talking to me first, which I was a little unsettled by. Nonetheless they set it up with no problems and they did it really fast which was fantastic. I was told over the phone that they sanitize it after they set it up, however I had to ask them to do so otherwise they wouldn't have. They set it up so that is was right near the drain in the backyard, which we appreciated, however that left it kind of tilted to one side. I've attached a photo of it, you can see in the photo that its a bit tilted to the right. One of the gentlemen who was setting up, brought up this point to his team member and were talking back and forth about it for a few minutes. They didn't really see eye to eye, so they set it up by the drain still. I figured they knew best so I did not say anything. The slide also had a 1 foot deep pool at the bottom, but no matter what we did, it would not deflate and kept puffing up, making it difficult for anyone who came down. The parts of the slide that were held on by velcro also kept lifting, so we were constantly adjusting them. We had a blast using it and were done before our scheduled end time at 7. We've hired Jokers before, but we always just had their bouncy houses. For the most recent birthday party we had them come do face painting and we had a pirate who came and entertained and played games with the kids.

Face Painting: I think the girl who came and did the face painting was Lindsey and she was great! She did a fantastic job and she even stayed longer than she had to. Provided you have enough kids (or even adults) at your party I think this was well worth the cost, especially if the weather isn't great outside, as this is a nice indoor activity.

Pirate: The guy that came out was Dave, he's one of the owners. Let me first say he was fantastic - he was very energetic and he got the kids so into everything he did with them. My only complaint was that he arrived 30 minutes late, and the food was delivered at the time he was supposed to be done - so by the time the kids got to the pizza it was cold. We were at a party the week prior to ours that Jokers did as well, and they were also 30 minutes late to that party too. So if you don't have a time constraint then I would definitely recommend them. I would also say if your child is shy with new people you may want to get the pirate for more than an hour. By the time our child warmed up to him there wasn't that much time left.

I received great service from this company and the staff was extremely polite, especially the office! I do have one minor complaint. I was informed they were busy the weekend of my party and were short staffed which I completely understand! They ended up letting me keep the bounce house for 2 extra nights free of charge! I was kept informed through the whole process! Which is why i was shocked to learn there were 2 employees in my backyard without me knowing! They never contacted me prior to picking up the equipment. My gate was blocked so they even had to move stuff out of the way to get in. This is the only reason I did not rate 5 stars.
