White Rhino Sports Bar — Restaurant in Redford Township

Oh, Rhino, why do we find so much appeal in you? I just don't understand. Really.

Okay, but honestly - The Rhino is a straight up trashy sports bar. But in the endearing way?? There's dozens and dozens of beer choices, and it's actually a price worth paying?? The food is your good, standard, traditional bar food that you want when you've been drinking. Loaded tater tots with chili and cheese? Yes please. The food is total delicious junk food.

Some nights there's shot girls, some nights there isn't. Depends who's there. They have a really big turnaround on the girls there. But they're nice and will talk to you if you're alone, make jokes, and flirt with the older guys to make a regular out of them. Ain't no shame, girl, you work those tips. If you're an insecure woman, though, maybe skip this place. But the girls are generally pretty quick to notice who is with a partner and who isn't, and play nicely. I've never seen my boyfriend get flirted with but all of his friends we've gone with have been. They're pretty good about that. I respect those girls, they put up with a lot.

There's a nice outdoor smoking area. They used to sell cigars here but I don't think they do that anymore, it's a bit of a bummer. We liked being able to buy a cigar if we hadn't brought any with us that night.

The people here are buckwild. There is a wide assortment of the craziest kind of people that if nothing else are pretty entertaining late in the night. I think that's why we go here so much, if just for the entertainment factor of the people. That, and it's cozy, there's decent food, cheap beer, and security so nothing gets too crazy.

The one thing I honestly can't stand though. THE DJS. Oh man can we please stop with the awful djs?? The bar is just fine with the jukebox going. As soon as they turn that off and start blasting these terrible remixes - ON THE SAME EXACT PLAYLIST AS THEY WERE A FEW DAYS BEFORE - IN THE SAME ORDER - it gets so bad that I'm ready to leave early. Honestly. At least mix up the songs?? It gets way too loud and tries to act like a nightclub - but everyone is still just trying to socialize and barely anyone dances. I really don't understand the whole nightclub vibe they try and go for on the weekends. Please just keep it casual.

But still, at the end of the day, I like the Rhino. I try and articulate why, but at the end of the day, I'm still Downriver born and bred and I just can't shake the comfort of a...

I am only giving this bar a one-star because I just got off the phone with someone apparently or not apparently I ordered food there that was improperly prepared it wasn't prepared to the standards of what the menu supported when I got the food home and served it to people at my home they did not really eat all of it I still have this food in my refrigerator so because I work nights I called the next day spoke to someone Gina and now I'm getting the runaround either the owner is Gina or Chris the waitress said waiting on me was Tara Tara and is just like where is your customer service why did you not call me back why are you not answering your voicemails who is the real manager so therefore I guess I'm going to have to come up there put it on video tape and try to see if I can get my food replaced because this is ridiculous who runs an establishment where there is no managemen management and househave to come up there and bring the food back put it on videotape and see what happens because I've never had the worst customer service in my life about...

I really wanted to like it here as I’ve lived in the area for a while. The drinks were decently priced and the bartenders were nice (at least to us...)but there’s literally no reason to have political things in your place of business. As a business owner myself I know that it’s not classy and it will drive away customers. Go ahead and vote for whoever you want but just stop advertising it at your place of business. I don’t care for Trump or Biden and don’t care who you vote for, just stop bringing politic to your place of business it doesn’t do anything positive but just drive customers away if they disagree. It would be nice to have a local place to just get away from politics and have a couple cold ones with your friends... unfortunately this is not the place.
