I have never felt more compelled to write a Google review in my 44 years than I do today. As a small business owner myself, I’m always learning from the experiences I have beyond my own walls—and this visit was one for the books.
This husband-and-wife business in Reed City is truly next level. I walked in with my daughter, and the owner immediately welcomed us as if we were guests at his own kitchen table. Without hesitation, he began offering me samples—bite after bite of thoughtfully crafted, flavorful food. Each dish was not only delicious, but made with such evident care and pride that it elevated the entire experience.
I’ve never been there before and had never met the owner, but I can say with certainty that what he is building inside those walls is something rare and special. I’ll absolutely be back any time I’m in the area—whether to eat in or take food to go.
Even though I won’t be enjoying my takeout until later tonight, I already know it’s going to be amazing based on what I tasted. But even more powerful than the food was the reminder that genuine hospitality and kindness are the true ingredients that elevate a good meal to a memorable one.
As a fellow small business owner, I left this visit with more than a full belly—I left inspired. Thank you for what you do for your community. I have a feeling your impact reaches farther than you may...
Read moreIf I could give this place a 6-star review I would. And it all starts with the owners with it being a family run business; the owners - husband and wife, are as generous, friendly, kind, and considerate as they come! They give free samples of their various foods, are kind in how they speak, and ask customer preferences of the various Middle Eastern hot food they sell. The owners are awesome, but let me tell you about the food: the chicken shawarma (to-die-for!), the rice they serve on the side with it (also 10/10), the baba-ganoush, the tabbouleh, and some American foods like fried chicken and potato wedges - ALL SO GOOD. And I’m the type of person that will leave a 1 or 2 star review, if the food or service was worthy of such a rating. But it’s that good. I’ve been to Jordan and Lebanon about 4 years ago, and the shawarma they serve at J&A takes me right back to the streets of Beirut and Amman. The food is authentic, because the owners are. The husband is an Egyptian immigrant, who, as he has mentioned to me, has been in Reed City and America since 2000. All this to say - if you’re looking for an unassumingly delicious bite of middle eastern food, stop in - you...
Read moreI'm from out of town & just happened to stop in at J&A Middle Eastern Foods for a quick lunch. I had an incredible experience!! The couple that own & operate this deli were so warm & friendly. Since I mentioned this was my first visit, I was offered half a dozen samples. EVERYTHING I tasted was so fresh delicious. I travel around the state & take every opportunity I get to stop for middle eastern food. And I can say that their babaganoosh & tabbouleh was the best I’ve ever had!! I enjoyed a couple small dishes for lunch at the deli. And brought home take out to feed my family dinner. The chicken shawarma was so flavorful & tender with delicious garlic sauce. We also enjoyed the stuffed grape leaves both with meat & vegetarian, Little Egypt’s signature rice, humus, babaganoosh, tabbouleh, tomato & cucumber salad, seasoned pita chips & fresh pita. My family devoured this meal! And the next time I’m in Reed City I will defiantly stop by J&A Middle Easter Foods again. I am excited to try the other dishes they have...
