I'd give this place a zero if that were an option. The burgers are mediocre. The joint is, in fact quick & cheap as stated above. However, the word "cheap," takes on a new meaning when the stores owner is present. My family and I visited Pete's for burgers. We ordered a total of 40 dollars worth of burgers. I asked for one BBQ sauce. A clearly frightened employee told me this would cost Thirty-Seven cents. I had not ordered any chicken nuggets in our very large order & apparently, this is the requirement for any sauce aside from ketchup. I asked to speak with a manager BC paying 37 cents extra for ONE small sauce pack seemed excessive. She directed me to the owner. He approached me rudely & disgruntled. He explained that "rules are rules," and I should take my business across the street if I didn't like his prices. I nicely replied, "this isn't a very big deal & I don't mind paying the 37 cents, I just wanted to tell you that we ordered 4 large meals & needed only one sauce, not 10." He then explained that he needs to make a minimum of 17 cents profit on each sauce. (Needless to say, our large order at this fast food place would have more than made up for his 17 cents.) I went to walk back to our table but was called back to counter. The owner angrily expressed that I should "take my money & open a restaurant across the street & charge whatever I want." Many locals enjoy Pete's for it's quick service and decent fast food burgers. Unfortunately, there are folks who make longer trips to experience Pete's. When met with irrational, rude and illogical character of the stores owner, I'm sure all will be extremely disappointed. This is a place whose motto is... "The stories always right, not the customer. If you have a problem with that, there is the door." Unless you are a 5 star or Michelen rated restaurant, (where seats are in extremely high demand) , being rude and unpleasant to clientele is a poor choice. My experience was so bad, I've spent the better portion of the afternoon reaching out to the better business beaurea and health officials. I'm not going to comment on the cleanliness of the restaurant BC all places can pick up dirt, dust and general mess. I will however say, when I view the photos I took of the cooking, kitchen & bathroom areas, I feel that McDonalds is the Taj Mahal by comparison. I would not recommend unless starving and...
Read moreOh my goodness, this little spot tucked away in Reidsville was sooooo worth my drive from Greensboro!!! I wish I would have taken a picture of my beautiful burger before I ate it. It was crafted perfectly as if it was staged for display- simple, layered and elegant. Aesthetically, it made me think of how a marketing or culinary company may dress up a gourmet dish before doing a photoshoot for the 5-star allure. Except, there were no cameras, no lights, no half-cooked burgers to preserve size, no fancy stuff, no fluff. The most perfect burger, was simply placed on a heavy duty food tray lined with a paper place setting highlighting the other businesses in the city, beside a hot and crispy order of shoestring French fries and a fruit punch drink. The taste was layered with every bite- the burger, mayo, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and onion, sliced pickles and slaw!!! The meal spoke volumes by itself. You know the food is amazing when the restaurant doesn't have to do extra to advertise but rather can advertise for every other business in the city instead. Not to mention, I'm writing this review 3 days after I ate this amazing meal-with the same passion I had at the table. I'm no food critic, but good food speaks for itself. Pete's Burger is my new favorite spot for good food. I can't wait to go back. In fact, I'll probably drive the 30 minutes today to the small town of Reidsville for the tasty meal again. It's like the flavor of an old school BK whopper with all the trimmings without all the steroids, just clean and classy perfectly accompanied by golden fries. I've been looking to buy another home, and Pete's Burgers & More had me looking at real estate and land in Reidsville. In all seriousness, stop reading my review now and go get your own burger already!!! Thank...
Read moreI’m going to have to callout the owner of the restaurant “Steve” on this, I went though and ordered all large meals the drive through worker didn’t repeat the order back to me so I proceeded to the window and I realized that all the drink we’re medium, the drinks didn’t bother me so I asked the cashier to double check the order and make sure everything else is large and when she did all of it was medium, so I asked her if she upcharge it so I can get the meals that I asked for and the owner Steve said “we ain’t throwing that away, you can get what you paid for I’m already losing money” and then walked off, a few minutes later I called the store and asked to speak with him and talked to him about him about the attitude he had with me, he then proceeded to tell me if I gave a problem with it that I need to open up a restaurant and put him out of businesss the point of this story is, I’m not going to take rude attitudes like that from people who own stores when I’m a paying customer, I’d at least like to get what I paid for, after that experience I think I’m done eating there and won’t ever...
