1st time visiting this location, around 4:00pm 07/03/2020. Placed a to-go order over the phone, when I arrived I placed my mask on, walked inside, and stood at the bar. I was the only customer wearing a mask (this isnt the issue) so I took my mask off. Before I was greeted I was told by the female bartender that I need a mask on. I looked around at everyone without a mask and asked why I need mine on. She said because im standing, I asked if I sat down do I need to wear a mask, she said no so I took 4-6 steps to the chair and started to sit but was told by the bartender that she told me to put my mask on if I am not sitting so that means if I was listening then I would've put my mask on before going to the chair. I apologized once again and told her I was just there to pick up food and hand over money. At this point I had already made up my mind to not give this location my money.
I've worked in the service industry for years, from barback to manager to small business owner. I felt singled out, uncomfortable because of the attention she drew to me from the moment I entered the bar. Was't drinking, just ordered to-go. She was unprofessional and demeaning. I walk in feeling good about eating some good food and being able to support restaurants and service workers, im a big believer in tipping.
I left without the food and drove to the original FTP on McCarran & 7th. I was served by Jordy. The manager was Joe. As soon as I walked in (with my mask on) i immediately saw the sign that explained FTP mask rules, they were simple instructions to follow, it was a lot more of a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Servers checked on me regularly, the manager checked on me. The service was great, as usual for this location. I used to be a regular 12 years ago or so but my GF loves this place so I figured it can be our new spot since it is so close. I will not be visiting location #5 again. But will be a customer at the McCarran & 7th location.
I am not sure if there was a sign or not at the FTP #5, there was a lot of signage on the doors and windows. FTP #1, the A-frame sign stood out great, couldn't miss it. I was a new customer that was uneducated in FTP mask policy so I went with the flow and checked around me before taking my mask off. I didn't know I was in the wrong and shouldn't have been spoken to as if im disrespecting her and the other guests but instead explain the rules without being condescending and not give an attitude because I didn't put my mask on to take a few steps to the chair. Don't know if she was having a bad day, it tough on everyone right now, so I do ask that if this is actually read and taken into consideration, I request that she is not terminated as times are tough for all of us and we all have bad days. But she should know that this isn't acceptable or professional behavior. I wanted to give this location my business and my money in a time where businesses are hurting. I want to support but I will not support this location. I know this may not matter much as I am only 1 customer, but has this happened before or will it happen again...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited on Saturday, February 9th 2018 with a group of friend. One of my close friend and I approached the bar and asked for two beers, we were asked for identification. My friend produced two forms of I'd because his licence is void and waiting on the arrival of his newly renewed license. His mexican license was expired, in may. He no longer resides in mexico and is not required to renew his license. I own and operate two businesses here In northern Nevada and firmly believe in the right to refuse service to anyone at any time without even a reason given. That being said what disgusted and enraged me was the bartenders gross negligence in being apprehensive to serve my friend on the grounds that he was insure of his legal migratory status. The situation at hand is a gross overstep by this bartender on someone's rights trickling down from the original supreme court hearings of discrimination "brown vs the border of education", and so on. I being a level headed human being wrote that off as an uneducated ignorant human being doing what ignorant people do. However we put our own garden earned US currency in the juke box and played some regional mexican music in between whatever everyone else was playing. The bartender than asked me how many songs we were playing in spanish, if I had more than five he would shut them off because he works there and we need to be considerate of his work space. We live in 2019 in the only country in the world that has the PRIVILAGE of being a melting pot of cultures and all matter of people and I as a Mexican American am extremely proud to say I am from here. This may have not been racism but it was sheer stupidity and ignorance. I will not endorse or give my business or an ounce of good publicity to any of the flowing tide pubs. Remember you as a consumer determine the fate of a business if you do not spend your money at ther establishment they will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was very disappointed coming here. A group of 7 of us came in and my husband unknowingly touched a table and barely moved it thinking maybe we could put the two tables together and a waitress with the most foul attitude I have seen in years yelled at him about it instead of politely telling us we couldnāt move the tables. He also was about to sit down and didnāt have a mask on and she shouted at him about that too. Donāt get me wrong, I understand there are regulations for COVID and the employees need to enforce them but this one waitress was horrendously rude. After reading some other reviews on here I see weāre not the only ones. She also made a snarky comment like āoh yeah that pandemic thatās only been going on for a year now.ā I understand the rules but the way this waitress treated us then stormed out was absolutely not ok. Afterwards some other very kind waitresses tried to help us but My husband and I left since we couldnāt sit with our...
