Hoffman Plumbing — Local services in Reno

I’ve lost multiple days of work trying to get repairs completed through Hoffman Plumbing / Legacy Air due to their consistently unreliable scheduling. On multiple occasions, they failed to show up during the scheduled work windows without any notice or communication. This lack of professionalism cost me both time and income.

Adding to the frustration, I was charged $180 for their annual membership program — a charge I never agreed to. At no point did I authorize or consent to this fee, and it was added without proper explanation or approval, which raises serious concerns about the company’s billing practices.

That said, I want to make it clear that the technician who eventually came out was excellent — professional, respectful, and clearly doing his best despite poor coordination from the office. He went above and beyond under difficult circumstances and should not be blamed for the issues I experienced. My concerns lie entirely with the company’s management and operations.

When I had a question about using a fast-setting concrete mix for a small pour with a 2-inch thickness, I asked to speak with a supervisor. The person I spoke with (Chaz) began the conversation by saying, “You’re the one that wanted to talk to me,” which immediately came across as dismissive and unprofessional. I had requested a quick-set concrete mix — a minimal price difference of around $2 per bag — but instead of considering the request or offering a reasonable explanation, the supervisor was combative and dismissed the product entirely, telling me I’d need to pay for it myself.

This experience was frustrating and disappointing from start to finish. I will not be using Legacy Air / Hoffman Plumbing again, nor will I recommend them. Robby came out to research a possible leak in our upstairs toilet or shower. It could not be recreated but he sealed the shower fixture. Hopefully that was it. He was very friendly knowledgeable and timely. I’ve used Hoffman plumbing before and I’m always happy.

Addendum: I called back to see if it would cost me the same 195$ to get the leak under the sink in the same bathroom fixed. A pop-up needed to be replaced Robby was going to do it while he was here and he had plenty of time but the part he had in his van was broken. And he had not restocked his van. So he left. I called the company to see if I could have a reduced cost to get that done since Robby couldn’t do it when he was here but was told they would charge another 195$ to fix the pop up plus parts. This would have only cost me the part if Robby had restocked his van and did it while he was here.
