As a Mexican who is quite picky when it comes to Mexican food, Id say this is Very good, really 3.5 stars and I'd like to give 4 or 4.5 stars, but a couple of things I didn't like. The salsas were very watery. They tasted good, but makes for messy tacos when too watery. Quesadilla (w. Chorizo) was good, but super greasy and practically in a puddle of oil. But what really bothered me was that it was Saturday eve, it states it closes at 9pm daily. I walk in at 815 (rushed to get there, coz I know how it is most places) and they didn't have specifically what I went there for, the chicken Mole! Said they didn't have it (not sure why? it's on menu online and on menu on the board when you get there). So I wanted steak tacos, said they ran out! What?! I guess they saw I was now really unhappy, so they said they could make them. They were very good! Also hand a chicken taco (shredded, which normally I don't like, but this was very tasty and not dry like most shredded chicken tacos) and fish taco (awesome!). I just don't like when restaurants or whatever, say they close at a time, but really start shutting down an hour early and don't offer a full menu or make you feel welcome when you walk in near closing time. This could easily be a 5 star joint with a little effort. And how do taco places not stay open later than 9 pm on a Saturday night?! Again, food was very good. If you're not Mexican, it's 5star Mexican food, and I'll certainly be going back as the location is great for me...
Read moreFive stars for food... but.... Dear STORE OWNER, I sincerely hope you have a chance to read this. My family LOVES your delicious, hot, freshly made, authentic Mexican food. It is the BEST IN RENO in our opinion. THE ISSUE: your employees REGULARLY, and purposely do not answer the phone to take orders so they can shut down early. OR- I’ve been on hold for literally 20+ minutes, driving to your restaurant, either to find it closed, or to be the next in line to order. It’s so unfortunate that this has happened on at least 6 occasions. Tonight, on SATURDAY night, we thought you just weren’t answering the phone AGAIN, so we drove there, only to find that your restaurant was closed early (AGAIN!) just past 6:30pm?!?? On a Saturday night!?! PLEASE be aware of what’s going on, as we would LOVE to buy your AMAZING, AUTHENTIC, beyond DELICIOUS food more often! Just BE OPEN DURING YOUR ADVERTISED HOURS. ANSWER the darn PHONE to take orders. (Suggestion: alternate orders: human in lobby, phone, human in lobby, phone...) People are HUNGRY! And your food is the answer! If you close early because employees want to leave early to party, at least update the voicemail to reflect that do we don’t drive there all excited like we’re going to eat some good stuff, only to be let down (again). OR- just have someone ANSWER THE PHONE when it RINGS, and your business will do...
Read moreIt hurts me slightly to write this. I have been coming here for over 2 years, and always loved this place, the cashier even knew my order when I came in. On Wednesday night my girl called in our order of a burrito and a birria tacos plate, they told her it would be ready in about 15 minutes. We showed up to pick up our food, and pay, and there was a piece of paper taped to the register, covering the prices and totals on the register. I lifted up the piece of paper to see that I was being charged for things I didn't even order. The cashier (she had stickers on her face) fixed the prices after she saw that I noticed. We then had to wait 35 minutes for our food, as it hadn't even been started to be made. I thought, "maybe they're really busy, maybe they forgot, no big deal.". Then we got home with the food.. my birria tacos had multiple types of meats mixed in, white meat (which I really hope was chicken) and some shredded beef (I think). It tasted horrible, i only ate a few bites, and we have been sick for multiple days. I wanted to bring the food back and have it replaced, however after the condition of the food that I received, and how sick it made me, I didn't want...
