Visiting Reno for a day. I asked someone that knows the area best for restaurant suggestions. This was his first mention, so I decided to check it out. Upon my arrival, I was impressed with the environment. I liked the antique and outdoorsy look. The western decor coupled with quaint lighting and some music (not so loud) gave me a welcomed feeling. Place is clean, at least in the dining area, we didn't use the restrooms. The server greeted us with haste and warmth. But the icing on the cake, the food! We ordered mozzarella sticks and buffalo wings as appetizers. Both tasted great. Although, I would have added more of the buffalo sauce to the wings, as a personal preference, it was still delicious. I got the opportunity to try their regular fries and their sweet potato fries. Normally I would say I prefer sweet potato fries, but in this case, the regular fries are better. Of course, that is not saying that the sweet potato fries weren't good. As far are drinks go, I was pleasantly surprised that they have pineapple juice, and it did not disappoint. Their strawberry lemonade is also good. My family all seemed to love what they ordered, too. I think the only thing that was not perfect was that my fish in the Fish & Chips basket was a little burnt. I don't know if that's normal for them to do but, at least, it didn't taste bad. Lastly, let's talk prices. In my opinion, things were not expensive. There are plenty of places where you will pay more for food that is less tasty. Oh, and they provided a military discount, which is always a plus. I have to say, I hadn't had a good enough experience to really talk about in a while. It was really nice to finally get great food. This place gets my approval and I will be back if I am ever in Reno...
Read moreSome reviewer calls this the perfect small town corner bar? Where is he from LA? This ain't no small town buddy? It's the biggest little city in the world! And this bar is not on the corner, it's between Virginia Street and Sierra Street. This is a large, college bar. I'm not sure if there's a mixed crowd here on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night. Every time I'm here there's nothing but college kids. This is THE place to hit on college women. But you better have your A game on, because they're not all psyc and health ecology majors anymore. They're like accounting and biochem and math and sh**. Fact is, there are now more females in college than males, and they're getting into all the formerly all male fields. They're taking over the world I tell you! This place gets packed. Dance floor in back and good sized patio in front. Two pool tables in back too. You can't create a better floor plan for a college bar, except the restrooms are small and always have lines with amateur kids puking all over themselves and the floor. Funny how many times you see puke before the restroom door like they ALMOST made it. SO CLOSE! It's hella fun if you want to hang with college kids and hit on college girls. Did I just say hella? Is that still in? Try this line on the college girls, yo diggity, wat up fool? You da bomb! Fa sho! You da cat's meow and it would honor me to request your company to the drive in and check out this new Elvis guy. I hear he's...
Read moreIt is sad that this business tries so hard to not be a sports bar, has poor management, and constantly alienates their customers.
They have recently decided to open at 11 am on Sundays despite the NFL season still playing and the playoff games starting at 10:05 am on Sundays. Of course did they post the change of hours on the website? Social Media? On the door? NO, I guess we are supposed to read their mind. Meanwhile people are missing the game dealing with trying to figure out what the management is doing here and how to help them pull their head out of their butts. Also new for this NFL season is the jukebox playing so that there is no game volume on at all. Might as well put QVC and the Lifetime channel on.
Why a second star? Their servers are quite nice and pleasant and don't deserve this piss poor decision making. Their burgers are quite tasty and a good deal on Sunday. It is just too bad it is on Sunday at a spot where you can't really...
