Okay this is definitely the place to go for breakfast and lunch 😁 Amber is the manager and she was so kind and friendly. She even gave us a little history on the place that her grandparents started it and opened different restaurants to which they left one to each of their kids which is Amber's parents that own this one. The food was so delicious and the restaurant was so cozy. We are from Oregon and were there with my older brother who had gotten married and this was our last breakfast before we flew back home. He could not have picked a better spot to take us. What a way to end a vacation 🄳🄳 Thanks Amber for ur hospitality and "The BEST breakfast in town" We will definitely recommend this place to others and when we come back we will be sure to stop in. Food was absolutely DELICIOUS šŸ˜‹šŸ¤¤

Great food and amazing service. Every time. Peg's is an institution in Reno. Starting with the downtown location and then expanding to locations north and south of town, it has a reputation for top-quality food served by some of the nicest (and fastest) waiters/waitresses you'll find anywhere. The skillet breakfasts (pictured) are legendary, and their variations on Eggs Benedict are mouth-watering, but I keep going back for what used to be called the French Toast deluxe. Two French toast, two eggs (over medium, thank you), and two bacon (best in town, provided by Sierra Meats). Occasionally I branch out, as I did on the last visit: Churro Waffles (also pictured). They have Disney beat. So incredibly good! Reno-ites are proud of Peg's. Try them, and you'll see why.

It has been many years since I had visited Peg's Downtown Reno and I live off Robb Dr. in N.W. Reno. I have been dreaming about biscuits and gravy for a week and found that Peg's has a location near Mae Anne and Robb Dr. The place was busy. Food was great. I appreciate the attention to detail the staff takes with cleaning, the condiment bottles were clean, table, silverware also clean, long hair kept in pony tails or buns, kitchen staff tidy, bathrooms clean. Finally, a place that takes food service seriously. Kudos to the management! I also want to thank the waitress Shana, very polite, courteous, and attentive. Even though they were really busy she made sure that I as a customer had a good experience. It's greatly appreciated. I will be back...

Good food & some seriously unwarranted attitude from the server.

Two of our orders were mixed up (two of the same dish with over-easy vs over-medium eggs), NBD. Busy Sunday, big table; would have overlooked, except the over-easy’s were undercooked to the point of clear whites. So we did bother our server for some new eggs, and bothered, did she become!

I’m used to poor or non-existent service these days, where a simple ā€œsorryā€ is like winning the lottery. But today took the cake for bizarreness. After ordering new eggs for us, our server told us to ā€œtry to get the right food next time!ā€ 🫨🤯 She also went off on a monologue about how she isn’t mad at us or yelling, the other servers who brought the food are newer, that the kitchen gets mad at her when this happens, and how it isn’t anyone’s fault, but we should really jiggle our eggs next time to make sure we’d been served the right eggs. Yikes.

She seemed so stressed, and I sympathize as a human. But I don’t think I ever would have, even as a teenage girl, acted so condescendingly to customers. Not even when automatic gratuity was added.

Suggestions to management: Give your servers some restaurant service 101: apologize for mistakes, offer a solution, and move on. Customers don’t care who’s fault it was - the kitchen’s or the other servers’ - and we don’t want to be told it’s our job to make sure we were given the right food. No, that’s your job, precisely…!?! 😃 Have the same server take orders at and bring out food to a table, to reduce mistakes. The ā€œat largeā€servers tried to deliver us food that no one at the table had ordered. This was happening to the table next to ours, too.

The Sierra skillet tasted...

I’ve been going to Pegs all around Reno for years and at first back then, everything was great. I hadn’t been much in recent years because the service and quality have been on a steady decline.

I went to Pegs over the weekend for a Saturday brunch since Squeeze In had an hour+ wait, and Pegs didn’t have any wait whatsoever. Should’ve been my first red flag.

We were seated and immediately got forgotten. It took forever for our drink orders to get taken, and the water that was brought initially ran out before we even got to order our food. We were checked on maybe once that was outside of bringing our meal, which was unfortunate because I really wanted a refill and it seemed everyone was purposely avoiding eye contact so I couldn’t flag anyone down for one.

The menu has shrunk tremendously since Covid, which I understand. What I don’t understand is why a cup of coffee is $5 without free refills, basic eggs and hash browns were over $10, and the side of ranch I ordered for $1 was the size of a standard small togo cup.

Friend and I shared the Altogether sandwich which has always been one of my go-tos, except this time there was mostly egg and very little of anything else besides lettuce and tomato. I remember when this sandwich was a triple decker fully loaded, could barely fit in your mouth kinda sando. Very disappointing to say the least considering their menu shrinking took away most of what I used to order.

Not sure what’s been going on lately, if there’s been a change in management/ownership, but it’s not the great breakfast joint I remember it being anymore. My friend and I decided that would likely be the last time we ever go to...

Enter the establishment at 9am, at 9:27am I had to ask if someone could take my order. The hostess graciously took our order and stated it was our servers first day as a server. Don't care, all that statement did was provoke the thought of, "how come she didn't have a trainer with her?" In this time 2 large parties came in, 1 before us(14) and another after us(8). So the other person with me mentioned are we going to have to wait for these two parties to be served because we noticed they had multiple people doting on their tables. She said no and took our order. However, here I sit wondering what kind of eggs I will get as she never asked me how I wanted them. 9:39 rolls around and guess what? My order came in the form of a scramble with several items I am allergic too. When the server took it back the cook looked offended and right at our table. We left. 3 strikes and your out. This is the 3rd horrible visit and we won't be back. It seems if large groups come in they get prime service while small groups get no service. Tips don't make your business, service does. Our bill would have been around $40 - $45 in which we would have left between a...
