Good food & some seriously unwarranted attitude from the server.
Two of our orders were mixed up (two of the same dish with over-easy vs over-medium eggs), NBD. Busy Sunday, big table; would have overlooked, except the over-easyās were undercooked to the point of clear whites. So we did bother our server for some new eggs, and bothered, did she become!
Iām used to poor or non-existent service these days, where a simple āsorryā is like winning the lottery. But today took the cake for bizarreness. After ordering new eggs for us, our server told us to ātry to get the right food next time!ā š«Øš¤Æ She also went off on a monologue about how she isnāt mad at us or yelling, the other servers who brought the food are newer, that the kitchen gets mad at her when this happens, and how it isnāt anyoneās fault, but we should really jiggle our eggs next time to make sure weād been served the right eggs. Yikes.
She seemed so stressed, and I sympathize as a human. But I donāt think I ever would have, even as a teenage girl, acted so condescendingly to customers. Not even when automatic gratuity was added.
Suggestions to management: Give your servers some restaurant service 101: apologize for mistakes, offer a solution, and move on. Customers donāt care whoās fault it was - the kitchenās or the other serversā - and we donāt want to be told itās our job to make sure we were given the right food. No, thatās your job, preciselyā¦!?! š Have the same server take orders at and bring out food to a table, to reduce mistakes. The āat largeāservers tried to deliver us food that no one at the table had ordered. This was happening to the table next to ours, too.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been going to Pegs all around Reno for years and at first back then, everything was great. I hadnāt been much in recent years because the service and quality have been on a steady decline.
I went to Pegs over the weekend for a Saturday brunch since Squeeze In had an hour+ wait, and Pegs didnāt have any wait whatsoever. Shouldāve been my first red flag.
We were seated and immediately got forgotten. It took forever for our drink orders to get taken, and the water that was brought initially ran out before we even got to order our food. We were checked on maybe once that was outside of bringing our meal, which was unfortunate because I really wanted a refill and it seemed everyone was purposely avoiding eye contact so I couldnāt flag anyone down for one.
The menu has shrunk tremendously since Covid, which I understand. What I donāt understand is why a cup of coffee is $5 without free refills, basic eggs and hash browns were over $10, and the side of ranch I ordered for $1 was the size of a standard small togo cup.
Friend and I shared the Altogether sandwich which has always been one of my go-tos, except this time there was mostly egg and very little of anything else besides lettuce and tomato. I remember when this sandwich was a triple decker fully loaded, could barely fit in your mouth kinda sando. Very disappointing to say the least considering their menu shrinking took away most of what I used to order.
Not sure whatās been going on lately, if thereās been a change in management/ownership, but itās not the great breakfast joint I remember it being anymore. My friend and I decided that would likely be the last time we ever go to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEnter the establishment at 9am, at 9:27am I had to ask if someone could take my order. The hostess graciously took our order and stated it was our servers first day as a server. Don't care, all that statement did was provoke the thought of, "how come she didn't have a trainer with her?" In this time 2 large parties came in, 1 before us(14) and another after us(8). So the other person with me mentioned are we going to have to wait for these two parties to be served because we noticed they had multiple people doting on their tables. She said no and took our order. However, here I sit wondering what kind of eggs I will get as she never asked me how I wanted them. 9:39 rolls around and guess what? My order came in the form of a scramble with several items I am allergic too. When the server took it back the cook looked offended and right at our table. We left. 3 strikes and your out. This is the 3rd horrible visit and we won't be back. It seems if large groups come in they get prime service while small groups get no service. Tips don't make your business, service does. Our bill would have been around $40 - $45 in which we would have left between a...
