I am absolutely thrilled to leave a glowing 5-star review for Tacos Los Campesinos in Reno, Nevada! This hidden gem of a restaurant has left me beyond impressed with their outstanding offerings and excellent service.
First and foremost, their hand-made tortillas are a true game-changer! The moment you take a bite, you can taste the love and dedication put into crafting each tortilla. The softness and flavor of these tortillas elevate every taco to a whole new level of deliciousness.
Speaking of tacos, their barbacoa tacos are simply out of this world! The tender and flavorful barbacoa meat is a mouthwatering delight that keeps me coming back for more. Each bite is a burst of savory goodness that keeps my taste buds dancing with joy.
But the experience at Tacos Los Campesinos doesn't stop there. Their pambazos are an absolute must-try! The hearty and satisfying combination of chorizo, potatoes, and smoky sauce sandwiched between two perfectly toasted buns is simply divine.
What truly sets Tacos Los Campesinos apart is their exceptional customer service. Our server, Roque, was an absolute gem! Not only was he attentive and friendly, but he also went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. His recommendations were spot-on, and his genuine warmth made us feel like valued guests.
From the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant until the last bite of our scrumptious meal, Tacos Los Campesinos provided an unforgettable dining experience. The combination of their hand-made tortillas, mouthwatering barbacoa tacos, and heavenly pambazos, paired with the outstanding service from Roque, left us utterly impressed and thoroughly satisfied.

Read more100% recommend, absolutely will return- Probably fairly regularly now that we know it exists. Their ceviche is shrimp, served on tostada, and super flavorful. The sauce is a perfect compliment to the ingredients. I never wanted it to end. We actually started with it, paused to eat the rest and returned to it for the last beautiful bites of dinner- the bites you want to remember walking out the door. It was that good.
Tacos: The birria/barbacoa was juicy, so tender and too easy to eat. It straight up disappeared. The al pastor had a delightful flavor, bright, satisfying chew and did not use pineapple in their marinade. The cabeza was our favorite hands down- melt in your mouth impressive.
They came with a nice smoky ‘salsa’ but the server couldn’t tell us which chile was in it for some reason.
The food was really amazing. Our server was patient and prompt and friendly. Cute enough interior. I can’t wait to go back again and again and bring friends. We came here on a recommendation and happy we did.
A couple unimportant things of note:
• Big wall of TVs. And no real mood lighting? • Drinks aren’t anything special (though the ceviche michelada looked mad-decent in reviews, I didn’t have one.) • The menu had no photos or explanations for the dishes - which is fine, I just had questions. • The salsa for table chips had a nice zippy flavor, not too spicy, but it was pretty watery tonight. Which just meant we ate it fast and got seconds. ;)

Read moreI looked up this place online, looked like great reviews, so we went. It was very busy we came in around 8:10, they stop taking orders at 8:30. They took awhile to get to us, but again they were pretty busy... It took a long time to also get our order, the chips and especially the salsa were GREAT! I usually get tacos when I order Mexican food, as usually that's the only thing I feel most, American Mexican Restaurant's get as close to authentic you'll get other then taco trucks, and what really upset me was they had no taco plate... I had to order Tacos individually (2.50 each) and then a side of beans which were a third of the size when I ordered another side of beans and rice by then selves.... The margaritas were super expensive, I got a regular Cadillac and it was 12-14 bucks.... They only had Birria Tacos, which I think they were under seasoned, and the salsa they had was not hot at all, (so I used the one from the chips and salsa) and tacos didn't come with anything other then meat and tortillas. Wasn't impressed at all with it, beans and rice were pretty much the same as the rest of the restaurants, bland. I wish I would've asked if they had any other types of tacos and for a chile/jalapeno asado or more of the salsa from the chips and salsa, cause that probably would've of made it way better... I didn't take any photos as there were too many people there and I try to not take pictures with...
