In search of great food and eating places in Reno, Nevada. Another gem found. If you like trying all types of food and cuisine then this restaurant is another place to try exotic food. In my time in the military I was able to experience so many types of food of the world. Filipino cuisine is a combination of so many other foreign dishes, Asian / Chinese/ Thai / Mexican / Japanese etc. This Filipino restaurant represents only 2 or 3 restaurants that serve Filipino food in Reno.bTambayan translated means "hangout" in English. It is located in an unassuming parking lot in central Reno with many other restaurants and shops. Parking is plentiful. Upon entering you find yourself in an entertainment area and bar. There are billiards and karaoke nightly. In the back of the building is the food area. There is an area for group special events. When I was there a group of postal workers had gathered for a retirement party. On the other side of the dining area was a small grocery area that specialized in Filipino grocery goods. A good selection of canned and dry foods. As for the food, if you are not sure what to eat, there is a ayce buffet of Filipino food and or ayce sushi. The menu is comprehensive of favorite Filipino foods, pancit a noodle dish much like chow mein, lumpia like Chinese egg rolls, meat dishes menudo a Mexican dish with a Filipino flair, chicken and pork adobo. These dishes prepared in a soy sauce, vinegar and garlic sauce. Accordingly vegetable dishes, with butter melon, okra, squash, Chinese beans etc. Usually two soups offered for the buffet. My favorite is the sinigang beef and or pork. I opted for the buffet. The buffet is offered 7 days a week. Sunday is a seafood buffet . Call for times as they differ by day. I opted for fried garlic rice as it was still breakfast, tocino (Filipino bacon) longanisa (Filipino style sausage/ Portuguese longuinisa. Then some fried pork like Mexican chicharon, and then pancit and lumpia. To drink San Miguel pale ale beer and for dessert a sweet concoction called "Halo Halo". Too many ingredients to note. In all, again another great food experience in Reno Nevada. Let the...

Came in on a Sat night around 6:40p and opted for the buffet. My first time here and am a Filipino out-of-towner.

Food: 10 different entrees.

The bad: Looked and tasted like it’s been sitting out for most of the day. Most of the entrees weren’t even warm. The pancit and the dinuguan both looked dry. The lumpia was not crispy and was at room temperature. The fried fish was meh. Based on those, I didn’t even bother sampling the others.

The good: The sinigang na baboy was tasty and hot! And so was the white rice (straight from the rice cooker). Since those were the only ones that were good, I just loaded up on those.

Service: I was a dine-in (at the back of the establishment) with 1 other family finishing up their meal. I only ordered water which was promptly delivered to my table but my glass wasn’t even refilled once throughout (I brought my own bottled water though; so it wasn’t necessarily a big deal for me at the time).

Atmosphere: It was absolutely quiet. Too quiet, in fact. It would’ve been nice to have some background music playing like one would expect at a sit-down restaurant.

Summary: If you’re craving for some sinigang, that’s about the only thing I could recommend here - so just order that a la carte. Not worth the $20.99 Filipino...

I LOVED going here!! Good was absolutely amazing nothing to complain about it, the place was clean, warm, had good family friendly music.

Prices where awesome for the amount of food you actually get!

They have 10$ an hour for poll or 1$ per game CHEAPEST IN TOWN! Had darts, and a dance floor it wasn't as busy as expected, it was so empty we thought it was closed , its definitely a recommended place for gatherings or just small meet ups if you want a quiet nice place to be , food was Clearly FRESH.

It had sides , tamtoes, cucumber etc. Go visit this place! It has a beautiful bar! And clearly is family ran!

Whats with the 4 star service? You ask?

Everyone in there was kind! And amazing , they where quick and easy to talk to.

I reccomend checking on people during their meal, asking on how the food was or possibly checking if they need utensils, soy sauce. Or other condiments I say that as a suggestion, anything other than that, this was amazeing Thankyou for the food and I hope this place gets...
