Be warned! The last couple of weeks of October, 2023, they began to make the sandwiches with by far the hottest pepper I've ever tasted. I've been eating hot peppers for 40 years. The jalapeño sized pepper of which several slices were in my sandwich, brought me to my knees, speechless, nose and eyes watering. Make inquiries before ordering or approach your sandwich forensically, tasting tiny bits of any slices of hot pepper you can see. Or, take the bold approach I did, and tell yourself during the ensuing minutes that it is not really a near-death experience, however great the temptation thus to perceive it. Hotter than a habañero, hotter than a Scotch bonnet, hotter than a prik (Thai pepper).
I have been eating here for 4-5 years. Visits vary: at times 2 loud TVs and one loud radio, at other visits one silent television. I usually order grilled pork bahn mi with sriracha (although I prefer sambal oelek, it is not available). The bread was freshly toasted, the sandwich was very good indeed, perhaps the second best I've had in Seattle, and it is in Skyway. This place merits further investigation. Service was quick. I ordered a second one about a minute after receiving the first one (a text from home), and the second one was produced even more quickly. The menu has been expanding over the years. Investigate the pre-wrapped "platters for one", and the items in hot case one (not fried), hot case two (fried), and one refrigerated case. There are vegan options. Rice paper wrapped cold "fresh" or "spring" rolls are very tasty, but occasionally lack structural integrity.
For years, I thought the "average" bahn mi was delicious. Now, I know that I was lucky, and had chosen a couple of very high quality places to buy them. So, get a grilled pork bahn mi here and feel lucky. Places north of here with great reviews serve sandwiches that are not this good. The one place that served better ones went out of business in...

This place stands out to me for 3 reasons: their bread and cleanliness of the place, other lunch options.
Their bread is more doughy than in would prefer but the important thing here is the crumbliness. It disagree with others who say you should be covered in crumbs. Those breads are always typically too hard or dry. My's bread crumbles but in manageable size crumbs.
This place is pretty clean and comfortable enough to enjoy a quick lunch.
The other lunch to-go options were nice and what I would expect in any viet deli. I grabbed the nem chua. Not the best I've had and not spicy but it was fresh, tangy, and herbal.
I am still on the search for the right pork in seattle. No place here grills their pork for whatever reason. I think it's important because the carmelization is important to bring out certain flavors and reduces the raw sweetness. This was the #2.
I did enjoy the #1 combo. Would be back for it. The pate is really nice. Not too smooth...
Read moreSo happy that there is a deli that i can get sandwiches in Skyway, close to my house.. without having to drive all the way to Chinatown! I got a combo and grilled pork sandwiches. These sandwiches were packed with meat! Actually reminded me of sandwiches that we used to get as kids. It was pretty tasty. Also got a dessert (#5 on the menu).. it was ok. There's was boba in there but that wasn't listed on the menu. I will try another one of their desserts next time. (😞 forgot to take pics of the food!)
As for selection... it was mediocre. Could have had more lunch items, they didn't have anything there I would get besides sandwiches and dessert.
It took awhile from the time I ordered to the time I picked up and paid for my food. I think it took almost 20 mins... thats way too long for 2 sandwiches. I was also in a hurry, had to get back to log in for a meeting.. so I was a bit annoyed it took so long. If you're gonna come here.. and you don't have time to wait, I would call in your...
