I don't usually write reviews but I made an account just to review this place. We drove 20 minutes from our hotel to come here because we love sushi and have missed the buffet-style. Everything had the same weird taste, and my lo mein was cold. Our waitress barely spoke to us. They did not come check on us once. My boyfriend's beer was WARM. My water was warm as well. They put ice but it melted immediately. I had my empty cup at the end of the table after I finished it and not once did they come over and ask if I wanted more. My stepdaughter asked for more apple juice but the waitress walked away before she even listened so we had to ask another waitress for more drinks. I had two pieces of sushi that were actually good and that I actually enjoyed. They did have a wide variety of sushi options, but I got every kind and there were two that I ate that were so disgusting I had to spit them out. I haven't spit food out since I was a child. I am not a very picky eater and I love Chinese food and all sushi and I always try new things, but after spitting out the sushi roll I was afraid to go any further. We were extremely disappointed and for the bill to be almost $60 for 3 people was insane. I wanted to complain with how disappointed I was because I left there still starving, but I didn't even bother. I know things are hard with COVID times these days but this was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I am not sure if this is something that happens often but I will never ever ever...
Read moreThey used to be better years ago. Used to be $14, now it is $18. I remember …basically everything… being more fresh and better all-around. Lately each time I go, anything I get is either lacking in flavor, chewy or has obviously been sitting out. The sushi is not kept up with and you will likely not get to try the ones you want given that they don’t keep up with replacing the old portions quickly enough. Even when the sushi comes out “fresh”, it feels and tastes far from it. Not much texture to it at all. Next to no flavor. Wasabi is visibly at the end of its road from sitting out and they do not replace it. That applies to the buffet food as well. For how expensive the buffet is, I personally find this unacceptable. At that point, it’s not even possible to get your money’s worth because you are only left with a handful of options that seem edible. It’s unappetizing to see the food that’s been sitting out for hours - the food that is visibly on its way out - being recycled on top of the new portions being put out. It’s hard to look around this place and not notice an instance of them cutting corners. It’s also extremely unappetizing to see people cross-contaminate the food with their designated tongs as often as they do.
All of this makes for a very off-putting eating experience in my opinion, and I suggest not spending your money here. $18 for a buffet with Hidden Valley dressing bottles out...
Read moreUsed to be good before COVID. I understand the inflation is a lot to take on. But for $16.99 dinner buffet price, it is really not that competitive. I used to go to this buffet at least once per week.
Dinner used to have better selection including Sashimi (Salmon and Tuna), you only can get sushi for now. sushi and maki quality is better than flaming grill. But for $16.99, you can get better quality Japanese cuisine in town. a good Chirashi cost that much too.
Other selection is pretty limited, Miso soup is great, hot and sour soup is good. Chicken wing, grill Salmon...
But very limited compares to Flaming Grill.
I dont feel like to go there for dinner anymore and they could make the restaurant look and feel better. I kinda feel depress in there with dim light and less than 10 people in the restaurant for dinner...
Since, I am getting older, buffet mostly not my thing. I enjoy better food. May be that is me.. But I would choose Flaming Grill than this if I want to go buffet with...
