I am a veteran (Army Infantry 2005-2013) with super high standards, attention to detail, that loves to m cook. I usually preferr to make and cook my own food so that I can do how I like it. I don’t like to modify my orders at restaurants because they’re busy and it just creates windows of opportunity for order to be right. The first time I came I was skeptical, because I feel like most of the good fried chicken recipes and restaurants are smaller and in different part of turn, s, e, w Dallas. This is my second time being here, and both times have been amazing experiences. The food is outstanding fresh, well prepared and the gentleman taking the orders is highly professional, patient with someone like me indecisive and by very particular knowing what in the which. In experience, mubasherv has been to what im looking for and makes recommendations and has been made combination of existing sauces to find the exact flavor I’m Iooking go. I am not a picky person you’re not hard to order for, But both times I’ve been here I’ve ordered for other people that I don’t know they’re specifics so Come in here, im a just a little stressed over bringing back something that people l don’t like. By the time I leave here not only extremely less stressed about anything considering other, but the pleasure of working with this Mabasher is really special. The environment is open and comfortable. The music is a refreshing change of pace from you might hear some places. always very clean. The food is always freshly made. They are open late. I don’t give reviews very much, the times that I do feel the need to write one. It’s usually for something bad that they did that I feel other people should know. And I believe it did service should be the standard so decent and good service usually gets a star rating, but me too, write a review like this should testament that the gentleman here AJ are really doing it right and have a special thing going here and deserve all success that’s coming. If you’re looking for a super high quality chicken spot in the Richardson area. This is the place and well worth it, I tipped close to 50% times. Not only to the Serve a high quality product. Their customer service and capabilities to execute the specifics of your order head and shoulders above most restaurants in know. I don’t get this kind of service at Perry’s. Rant over. These guys...

The food here was delicious and portions are definitely on the larger side. However I had a situation that definitely has given me trust issues with this place and its hygiene standards. At the time I was in the restaurant there was only myself and one other group of people that had ordered right before me. One of the employees accidentally gave the other group of people my food on accident and therefore they had definitely handled the sandwich and ate some of the fries. They then realized it was my food and they gave it back to the employee at the counter and asked for the correct order. After they received their food the employee told me my order was ready and tried to give me the sandwich that was manhandled and lacking fries. Given I saw everything that happened I asked him if he was giving me the sandwich that had just been handled to which he played dumb until I told him I saw everything and he then admitted it was. Even after he admitted it was he still tried to push the sandwich on me. At this point I told the dude “no I didn’t pay for a pre-owned combo.” After that I believe the owner heard and asked me what happened to which I told him and he told the employee to make me new food. He then took the food back and I’m pretty sure he just took everything and put it in a new bun and didn’t even add any fries. I just kinda admitted defeat at that point because I didn’t want to be a problematic customer. There was also no apology at any point of me being there. So to the owner, if you really want to make this right don’t respond back with one of those “hey buddy
” vague responses where you hope you can make it right. Because what you’re saying is that you want me to go back and then pay full price for another meal and hope your “shining” staff and food will make up for it and all will be forgotten. Like no! Be a good business owner and actually do...

RUN! Don't walk to AJ's Hot Chicken 🐔

Late Saturday night, I had a craving for chicken. I was 20 miles away, and AJ's was the only place open, so I decided to drive over to satisfy my craving. Little did I know how happy I was going to be!

Adham was behind the counter, and he was absolutely fantastic in explaining everything, even supporting my decision to try the hottest chicken they had. The service was amazing, and everyone behind the counter was friendly and welcoming.

What sets AJ's apart is their late-night availability - they're open until 3:00 a.m., perfect for those midnight cravings. The menu offers a variety of options, from chicken sandwiches and burritos to tacos, catering to different tastes and spice preferences.

The ambiance is fun and fits the late-night vibe perfectly. There's even a big mirror for those Instagram-worthy pics. As a bonus, they offer free ice cream, which is a nice touch (and almost a requirement) after indulging in their spicy offerings.

While I went for the hottest option, it's worth noting that they use Carolina Reapers for their spiciest dishes, so spice enthusiasts will find a worthy challenge here. For those less inclined towards extreme heat, there are various spice levels to choose from, making it accessible for everyone.

AJ's Hot Chicken isn't just about the food - it's about the experience. The staff's enthusiasm and the lively atmosphere make it more than just a late-night eatery. Whether you're satisfying a midnight craving or looking for a fun spot to hang out, AJ's delivers on all fronts.

Don't miss out on this gem - AJ's Hot Chicken is definitely worth the trip, no matter how far you have to drive! When you hear about food being made with love, this is the place that comes to mind!

Got the chicken tenders combo (4/5 spicy), flamin hot cheetos mozzarella sticks, and some Mac and cheese bites at around 10-11pm on Monday. The food came out way too fast, definitely seemed it isn't cooked to order. Spice wasn't 4/5, and I found it to be a little bland... The breading was falling off and the chicken was borderline dry... Which is evident by refrying previously cooked chicken... It also had an odd smell to it that was a little off-putting. For all my Arabic speakers reference, the chicken had a strong smell of zankha. The mozzarella sticks were mid, seemed a tad bit undercooked and didn't taste like hot Cheetos. The Mac and cheese bites were decent, but nothing special. The place does need some work, there was a leaky roof and no bucket collecting the water. I don't see myself coming back to give it another shot... I didn't hate it, but for the price of the food and what I got? Nah, I'd rather go to Ricky's for a zabiha halal option, or Dave's Hot Chicken if zabiha isn't a restriction for you. I dislike leaving negative reviews, but I had such high hopes for this place judging by the many positive reviews... However I'm still scratching my head how this place is sitting at a 4.7 stars at the time of writing because it didn't even remotely display any qualities of a >4.5 star restaurant. Buddy, fix your food, there's a plethora better examples of good hot chicken in the area... Take some notes.
