If you sort the reviews for this place, you'll find Jeff Stewart is the only person to give a 1 star review. He gave 2 different Wal-Mart supercenters 3 star reviews. That's the kind of person who doesn't like this restaurant. One time I visited my friend in California and we went to Universal Studios after a couple hits of acid. Immediately we went to Harry Potter world, had our butter beer, bought some wands and headed for the magical ride inside of Hogwarts. Things were starting to kick in when we reached the front of the line. So I'm telling you, I WAS there with Harry and Ron, flying through Hogwarts and the surrounding areas. The ride broke down when we were in front of the spiders, pretty funny as the woman next to us was freaking out. Ride was only down about 30 seconds and then it finished out. When we were walking out, dropping our 3d glasses off, an attendant told us we could go again since it broke down for a bit. Hell yeah. I explore the magical wizarding world 2 times in a row while tripping! The point is, Ann's Best is better than that day. Most amazing food in town and the friendliest, most personable caring staff. Can't...
Read moreHow haven't any of my local friends told me about this gem! Amazing service- up there with the best I've ever had, killer prices- $8 for a huge bowl of jumbalaya, big portions, relaxed and casual atmosphere overlooking the airport, and seriously delicious. (And it isn't a chain restaurant!) Anytime you get my picky toddlers to grab a chicken strip as big as their forearm and chow down like cavemen, you are going to gain my family as regular customers. Thank you to the owner (or the gentleman I assume is the owner), my kids kept raving about the "deeelicious lunch" and the "nice man" that brought them 2 cups of ranch so thsy wouldn't have to share. Because that is just the worst thing they'd have to experience, apparently. We'll be back to see you.
I recommend the jumbalaya, sweet tea, and peach cobbler. The kids loved the southern fried chicken and fries, but my son ate a healthy portion of my jumbalaya too.
We finished about a third, so I don't even have to cook dinner...
Read moreAug 2025 Update: I LOVE THIS FOOD!!! New favorite is Jambalaya N Catfish! without doubt worth more from my wallet than what I am paying. Fried catfish and chicken options are very light flour coating, well seasoned and mild kick. No thick breading nonsense. Get a cup of remoulade sauce to dip in and you'll understand my addiction. Portions are generous, service pleasant, staff and crowd always friendly. This restaurant would be a destination eat for me if I wasn't already flying in for it.
Feb 2020 update: this place still rocks! The blackened grilled catfish poboy was too much to eat had I ordered ANYTHING to go with it! Simple and tasty.
Nicely remodeled for greater seating. View of aircraft ramp activities while eating. Decent approximation of creole food. Certainly tastier than a fast food chain. I stop here regularly while flying around. Service is friendly, but you'll wait longer for your food between...
