This is a brand new place which I noticed driving around a few days ago. This is like a 5 min drive from my place. Was not too excited initially since most Indian places are disappointing. They start the business purely to make quick money, with very high mark-ups in price. They lack the passion or the required experience to succeed long term in this business
Decided to stop by today during lunch and was surprised how crowded this place was. The order is placed and they give you a number. Chosing the table is a musical chair situation. Need to quickly jump into a vacant seat. May be being Sunday lunch time the place was really crowded.
Ordered Rava dosa apprehensively, since Rava Dosa is the most difficult dosa variety to be made with precision keeping in mind the texture, taste and crispness. I was pleasantly surprised that the rava dosa ordered, hit all the right notes. The batter was certainly not the stale kind but fresh. The accompaniment chutneys were fresh and tasty. For us the peanut chutney was mild and bursting with flavours. Not the thawed chutneys from frozen batches made weeks ago. The sambar was mild, tasty and spice not overpowering.
In most of my past experiences, Bhel-puri is quickly put together with stale sauces and rancid Bhel. The Bhel-puri was fresh and tasty. We requested mild spice and they adjusted the spice level to our liking.
The rose milk was perfectly thick and sweet like the ones we had in our childhood days.
I always craved for a A2B in Houston just for the rava dosas. This place is not going to disappoint. They have an extensive Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian menu but I can only speak for what we had. If they continue to keep up with this quality and affordability, this will certainly be my go to pick-up or...
Read moreI came with my mom on Wednesday at 5pm. Every single person working there made our evening a 10/10. It was our first time here and the lady on the counter was so helpful with suggestions because I can't do spicy food! We got goat, dosa, uttapam, chaat, and of course chai. EVERYTHING I mean, EVERYTHING WAS YUMMY!! Dosa was fresh and crispy and masala was fresh. The sambar was good and the chutney was a little salty, but there is a 3rd chutney with a garlicy sweet taste, and that was the star!
Uttapam was crispy at the bottom and a lot of people miss that detail. So I was super happy when I had a hot fresh crispy uttapam!
Now, the BEST part of our meal was the live pani puri and the sweet man who was serving us. The hot channa mix and tamarind chutney was SO FRESH, SO YUMMY, AND PERFECTLY BALANCED. not too spicy, not too salty, not too sweet. It was so good, I could have eaten 100 of them. Houston is filled with desi food, but lots of places miss the mark on the most simple things. This place is now my new go to, even though it's super far away. Good customer service is rare so that with some delicious food makes this place...
Read moreI have come here a couple times, just trying the food in my area during my lunch breaks, but this place keeps calling me back for indian food. I was really intimidated by the large menu, and had no idea what to order. I still dont to be honest with you, but the lady who has taken my order the past 3 times, Swetha, has been one of the most kind and understanding employees there. She has helped me pick out a meal every time, and this last time she even was very honest with me on the potential wait as they are short staffed. The food is nothing short of excellent so far, even though i cant quite tell you what exactly i ordered. I know one of them was a Biryani, the other time I got this chicken with what I think is gravy? It was delicious either way, today i got this Chicken dum biryani, and just smelling it im intoxicated with the aroma. Prices arent bad either with the quantity of food you get. I think its fair to say this has become my to-go indian place. Keep up the great work! I cant wait...
