I purchase food from this restaurant on a regular basis and when they first opened up the food was delicious I would travel across town just to get some curry chicken. However, I’ve been experiencing issues with the food and staff. Either the food is severely dry, the flavoring is off and or the chicken is raw. I made a purchase and the food was just horrible! I traveled all across town to get my order replaced. The cashier immediately had an attitude when I requested for them to replace my order. She suggested to add more gravy, I told her “NO I would like a new order because the food was just horrible” she rolled her eyes and I asked due to my inconvenience. Could I have a coco bread? it was about 9 pieces of coco bread, she said all 9 were ordered and paid for, I said “cool, how long would it take for you to make more” she said 20 minutes. So I waited. Theyreplaced my order. Initially I thought the taste was “okay” NOT GREAT, but “okay”. 20-30 minutes later another customer asked for a coco bread, she said she had to make them, so she had NEVER put the coco bread on when I asked for it, she then asked if I needed help. I replied “yes, I’m waiting on the coco bread” she said are you serious? Coco bread for what? I reiterated due to the fact I had to travel across town for Jamaica Taste to replace my order, I am asking for a coco bread. She replied “ let me shut up” so the customer asked if something was wrong with my order. I communicated without going too much into detail that they screwed up my order. So the chick said again, let me shut up, but then start to explain to the other customer our whole conversation about the coco bread as if someone was actually talking to her. So I asked “ why are you being rude” she said “ she asked a question and I wanted to make sure she’s getting accurate information” I said “she is, but no one was talking to you, she asked me a question and you jumped into our conversation very rudely and unprofessional, then you keep saying let me shut up, why? What do you need to say” she rolled her eyes and said “ your coco bread is coming. After returning home I began to eat the food, I started to feel ill, the food was disgusting! I tried to make myself eat the food, but I couldnt. The following day I returned to Jamaica Taste to return the food, there was another female at the cash register. Upon trying explain that I wanted to return the curry chicken she attempted to take 3ppl orders in front of me, then she took a order over the phone. While I was explaining to her my issue with the food she began to write on her note pad not making eye contact which made me feel ignored or dismissed. After providing her with all the information she took my order and refused to provide me with a refund. I asked to speak with a manager who was NOT present however she felt the need to walk around the building, to later say “ the manager is not here” so I requested a refund and she said without the manager being present, she could not provide me with a refund and he will give me a call back by Monday” I told her that was unacceptable and she need to contact the manager for my refund. After waiting 10-15 minutes, she continued to take orders, she later stood in front of me counting out money. I continued to wait as I was attempting to document my experience @ Jamaica Taste. She asked if I needed anything else, I said to her “this is the very reason why I requested to speak with the manager, it should NOT take this long to replace or refund someone order.” I visit this restaurant frequently and for you to display such poor customer service to a regular customer is unsetting, she continuously rolled her eyes. She stated that no one has ever complained about the food which is NOT accurate information. Ppl has posted and complained about their food on social media, and the customer I was speaking with decided to check her order and she was not pleased and they made changes to her order due to them screwing up her food. I’m very disappointed and disgusted with the quality of food and...
Read moreEverybody is entitled to their own opinion everybody has their own palate. I was raised in a West Indian home, and I’m sorry West Indian definitely is not what I got !!!!!!!!!!!!!I ordered the oxtail and the stewed chicken. They both were extremely bland. The oxtail were amazingly tender, but I was expecting a taste of Jamaica, and the food was very bland.. i’ve been eating stew chicken, my whole entire life and I’ve never had stew chicken BREAST that was a huge disappointment to me. AND I UNDERSTAND THAT EVERYBODY DOESN’T LIKE CHICKEN ON THE BONE IF THAT’S THE CASE MAKE YOUR !!!!OWN !!!!!! WHEN YOU GO TO A JAMAICAN RESTAURANT ( or a West Indian home )AND YOU ORDER STEW CHICKEN, or is being served at someone’s home IT BETTER BE ON THE BONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was dry despite all of the juice that had spilled out into my bag which I’m sure was no fault of the restaurant but if you want juicy stew chicken, it Hass to be on the bone. I am going to stress that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Again I wanted a taste of Jamaica because I was to lazy to cook today myself !!! I’m sure they won’t miss my service but I don’t think i will be going back to pay those prices and not getting authentic taste of Jamaican cuisine!!!!!!!!!!!!I hope the owner can regroup maybe make a few changes and come back stronger !!!!!! The people will always come for good food!!!!! Just get good food...
