I visited the store after waiting for the opening crowds to die down. It was a wonderful experience. We got food from the deli (Mama J's) and even though it was a bit cold when we ate ( nothing on them, we wandered around after getting food) it was delicious. I had to debate with myself over the plump looking crab legs, but I decided those did not fit into my budget this week, but I'll be back for those. The meats looked excellent. I picked up a container of prepared tropical fruit in produce that looked really good, but I haven't eaten yet. I can see this being a wonderful addition for my grocery shopping although Farm Fresh is much closer. I had no issues with pricing. It seemed very middle of the road for me, because I shop everywhere and being budget conscious, I memorize prices for various stores. Some prices were higher and some lower. I did forget to check out dairy prices because I didn't need anything from there.
Everyone that worked there was very polite and helpful, even when I heard a customer upset. And the deli people were especially accommodating to my sister, who can be...
Read moreMy boyfriend lives in the neighborhood, and we decided to walk to the Market to check it out on a Saturday afternoon. The parking lot seemed small, but it was by no means full. The lane at the back of the lot is one-way, and a security guard was out in the lot for drivers who might need help navigating the new space.
The staff was very friendly. We were greeted at the door by a woman handing out free fresh fruit to folks as they left as a neighborly promotion. The women at the customer service counter were kind and informative when we inquired about the frequent shoppers card. (Cards will be available in a few weeks, and all sales are currently available without a card.)
The grocery selection is comparable to Kroger. Three different brands of cornstarch- that sort of thing. The fresh seafood department looked very nice. And they have fresh sushi. Prices also seemed comparable to Kroger, though my boyfriend did note that their Amy's frozen meals were almost twice as expensive as what he pays for...
Read moreThis use to be my favorite spot to get deli meat in the city, now i dread going here for the meat. The service is BEYOND SLOW. this the second time i had to cancel my deli order because i had to wait over 30 mins just to cut a pound of cheese and a pound of meat. mind you there was only 1woman ahead of me. The sad part is everyone is quick to wanna help a customer who is ordering hot food, they get they food in and out. However if you order deli meat or cheese the employees act like they dont see you standing there before the guest who even comes up to order a hot food tray. Can you please find a way for just somone to cut the deli meat and cheese. Not one person there now wants to cut the meats or cheeses. Try this and you will see exactly what im talking about, stand there to order your fresh cut deli, watch how many of the employees back there will give you eye contact and wont say one word to you until you say" excuse me ,can i get..." they dont...
