La Parrilla Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Richmond

First time here. Worst service I’ve received at a restaurant in a long, long time. Came in with my husband and toddler. We were seated. Our waitress came like 15 minutes later and mumbled “Drinks?” We ordered waters and our kid’s meal. She came back with waters and at that time we ordered our food and a margarita. Margarita never comes. Kid’s food eventually comes. We wait and wait and wait for about an hour. In this time, a family of 6 has been seated behind us and have already received their food. She doddles up fo our table after talking to the table next to us looking confused and says “Do you all need something?” Still trying to be polite, we says “Just some more water when you get a chance.” She says okay. Water never comes. Wait and wait more. The table she has next to us receives their waters and margarita and at this time we flag her over and just say we want the check because we need to get our kid home and have waited long enough. She says “Oh sorry I just checked the kitchen to see what was taking so long, it’s about to come up, do you want it to go?” We said sure and again we wait and wait and wait. I eventually leave with my kid and husband stays behind to pay. Still more waiting. She eventually brings out the food on plates. At which point our husband says, “no, this isn’t right either, can I just pay for my kid’s meal and leave, please?” At which point she says “Ugh okay” and comes back and slams the receipt down for him to sign.

So not only did she completely forget about us, she lied about it, had a bad attitude when SHE screwed everything up, and we left without ever being fed. Hopefully this isn’t the norm for this place but we’ll go to one of the many other Mexican restaurants in Richmond instead where we can actually...

TODAY WAS OUR LAST DAY TO EAT AT CASA CAFE!!! We have been coming to Casa Cafe for 4 plus years and it has always been our favorite Mexican restaurant in Richmond. We even ordered take out from them during the pandemic to help support them. Most of them recognize us we come through the doors and are extremely sweet. They sweet little lady that greets us on most days even told my husband during the pandemic to tell me hi and that they miss us. We will miss the kind employees at Casa. However, last several times that we’ve been before and after the pandemic our service has been horrible, and today was no different . We keep getting Jessica as our server, and she is extremely rude. She can’t understand what we are ordering, and never gets our order correct. When we question her about it she gets very defensive. She shows us something completely different on the menu that we didn’t order but it is what she brought us, then she just walks away. Not to mention that what she brings us is always more expensive than what we actually ordered, and she never offers to refill our drinks. The way that she has treated us on multiple occasions has caused us to never want to come back. We will be taking our business somewhere that...

We used to love this place. Over the last few years, the quality of service and food has gone down, while the prices have gone up. We have been going to a different Mexican restaurant for a while, but when family came in from out of state, they wanted to go to Casa Cafe, because they had gone years ago and loved it. We haven't been in a long time, so thought maybe things had changed for the better. We had a party of 8. Our drinks an orders were taken care of promptly. Everything went downhill from there. 6 out of 8 of the party received their food in a somewhat timely manner. The food quality and quantity wasn't that great, and not all of it was hot. The other 2 people didn't receive their food until everyone else was finished eating. The last 2 plates were cold. We sat waiting for refills more often than not. When we asked to speak to a manager, all he could say was "I'm sorry", repeatedly. He got fresh food for the last 2 people. We had requested that those last 2 plates be made to go, since everyone else was done, but they still brought them on regular plates. After waiting for a while for take out containers, we just got up and got our own. I will never, ever return...
