Itâs been awhile since Iâve done a Restaurant (Food Review). So hereâs MY opinion of ANJOU Restaurant located at 361 Township Ave., Ridgeland, MS 39157.
Let me note that this restaurant *Has outdoor dining, *Has a private dining room, and *Serve vegetarian dishes.
We were seated as soon as I gave the Receptionist my name. Our waitress name was (Palace) and she was on it all night. It appeared as if she had at least 5 other tables as well, but she didnât let that stop her. We were given their complimentary French Breadđ„; which came out hot and soft. It was quickly devoured!đ„Ž
Appetizers! Next came the appetizers, we ordered Fried Oysters and Escargots De Bourgogne (snails). Let me state on the record, they were thee best fried oysters weâve ever had.đźâđš Then came the Escargots! Same taste!đ©
EntrĂš After that, my wife ordered the Duck Breast; which came with (roasted butternut squash and asparagus finished with a green peppercorn Bordeaux wine sauce.) The duck was a bit chewy and the taste was ok. We gave it a 6.5/10.
I ordered the Redfish; which came SautĂ©ed and topped with jumbo shrimp served with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetable finished with lemon butter sauce. The Redfish, shrimp and lemon butter sauce was decent; it couldâve used a little more seasoning. The broccoli was rather hardđ€ŠđŸââïž, but good to say the least. (7.8/10)
Cocktails!đž đčđźâđš Parisian Daiquiri (Bacardi light, St. Germain, and fresh lime juice)
Lemon Dropđ
Letâs just say, Anjou will knock you down with these. They were very generous with the liquor and they tasted amazing! (10/10) for both!
Dessert đź Strawberry Crepe (Sweet crepe stuffed with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.) Though this was simple, it was SCRUMPTIOUS!đ©đźâđšđ
The total atmosphere was great and weâll definitely add it to our round of restaurants. So concluding, hereâs my overall score of ANJOU!đ€©
Cleanliness: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Food: 7.9/10 Drinks: 10/10!! (Youâll end up in those bushes outside!đ€Łđ€Ł)

Read moreI ordered the shrimp salad with remoulade dressing. I didnât know the salad had dressing on it already when it came so I put the remoulade on the salad and began to stir it around. To my surprise the salad had dressing already on it, but it was under the leaves. The waitress could have told me about this before hand since I preferred the salad from looking at one someone else was eating and not from the menu. I guess the menu tells the customer that it comes with dressing already.
Then I noticed that our waitress cleaned the table across from us and then came back to set it. Only thing I didnât like was that the glasses that were laid out, looked like they had just came from the dishwasher. Thatâs right, they looked like they had just came out of the dishwasher or at worst, weâre just rinsed out in a sink. I for one would not drink anything from them again if thatâs how they set a table with wet glasses. What else goes on in the kitchen if they cannot dry the dishes when they are finished being washed?
Then thereâs the service, I wasnât waited on when I came in. Even though I arrived after the others in the party had already gotten their food and was eating. First, you would have thought the hostess would have let the waitress know there was another guest at the table. Then after a few minutes of being there, the waitress could have came by just to check on the others that were there. But no, one of the guests had to get her attention to come over and engage with me.
What is this world coming to, when at a white linen restaurant, canât dry their dishes before bringing them out to the table, or putting salad dressing on the side without smothering it in dressing if you donât use much, and where the wait staff, hostess included doesnât care that much for the customer to see if they are doing...
Read moreClassy location. The restaurant has a 'Chique' vibe. Ordered the Anjou Salad and Filet. After a long day prospecting clients for 6 hours across 9 counties in Mississippi, I needed to reward myself for signing a deal and booking a new lead in the same visit.
Close to several Marriott chains, I also needed to scout for a location where I can present at my nearby hotel conferencing accommodations but furthermore, host a dinner for my clients following an upcoming C-Suite board presentation.
Bottom line - Glad that I accidentally found this place, decided to place a carryout order for safe measure.
Excellent Menu incorporating your familiar gourmand surf/turf (ribeye or filet steak, red fish or salmon, pork chops) with delightful sides to complement the entrees. and then, weaving in Traditional French cuisine: Duck, Beignets, Paulette, Escargots De Bourgogne, etc
Did not try the desserts, but again, present in the Anjou selection are your Créme Bruleé, Crepes and Tart Tatins to cap the night with a Recanche Cognac, Rosé or an espresso for a quick pick-me-up...even brunch mamosas...
Atmosphere white table cloth, formal or semi-formal, relaxing ambiance, white marble bar, somewhere you'd take family out of town or a change of pace with a significant other
Drink offering *Shoutout to the Bartender, quite the gentlemen -- Walked through the wine list, conversational. Both glass and "by the bottle" Boujelais. Truly made my night receiving attentive service and recommendations. And your familiar cocktails and beer selection as well.
Bringing my next client happy hour/dinner here during my stay in Jackson/Ridgeland.
I've been to Chenenceaux, France, partake in tastings in the RhĂłne Valley and a few tours of restaurants and wineries in Napa, CA -- I liked my experience...
