Ben & Jerry’s — Restaurant in Ridgewood

Local resident and frequent customer, this place is delicious and USUALLY very friendly! However beware of visiting this place 15 minutes before closing as I was quickly escorted and asked to leave the shop 5 minutes after closing as I was just about to finish my shake. An employee that goes by the name of “Angus” said to me, a PAYING customer, “no rush but we closed 5 minutes ago and would like to go home”. He was incredibly RUDE and I wish I could take my tip back. I would understand if it had been 20 minutes after closing but I was about 1 minute from finishing my dessert. 7 other paying customers were in the scoop shop at the time. We all left at once in shock to be treated this way at 10:05PM in Ridgewood. I felt as if I had done something wrong, but I was only enjoying my ice cream in silence. One poor man’s wife was still in the restroom as we were being yelled at to leave. Not to mention the employee “Angus” was also inappropriate when communicating with his co-workers in the busy shop, yelling at them while sweeping the floor. A discussion for another time. I love Ben & Jerry's ice cream! If I was rating the ice cream alone I'd rate it 4 stars! Unfortunately, I ordered the chocolate chip cookie sundae today with tonight dough and chocolate peanut buttery swirl flavors. The ice cream was so good especially the tonight dough flavor! I'm taking off a star because my chocolate chip cookie was AWFUL! It tasted stale! It was super hard, an had only one chocolate chip in it! I had to toss it in the trash!
