We stayed in three different rooms. Upon checkin we had to wear wrist bands for the entire 1 week stay. Our room was not ready yet so they gave us free drink tickets which did not work at the bar. On top of that they didn't store our bags so we had to drag them into the bar area with us. The bar was at full capacity due to Covid-19 so they sent us to the sun deck which did not have any umbrellas. All of this happened after a full day of traveling and being dehydrated. Patricia (the hostess) made us prepay 20$/reservations in order to secure meals during the stay. They also give you a remote control for a gated parking area which did not work! And upon arrival the parking lot was full! Room6: 2 bedroom + kitchen: although this room slept 6 people, the shower head had no pressure and did not supply warm water let alone hot. This is the only room I would recommend if they fix the shower head. -Room1: DO NOT EVER STAY HERE. 1queen bed. We were right next to the kitchen. We could hear the staff cleaning pots and pans at 12:00AM. Same shower head issue. The pillow cases were like cardboard. The air conditioner did not work! -Room2: Upon checking out of Room1, the Hotel managers refused to store our bags again while we went on a hike for the day. We had to throw out all of our food provisions bc we had nowhere to store them. We also had to drag our luggage with us in the car (not safe). This room had no major issues but is still outdated and had 2 queen beds.
We arrived late to lunch by 1hour and lost one of the 20$ deposits bc Patricia would not honor it. The only bright side to this experience was our waiter Gabriel! Patricia and the hotel managers should be fired! Additionally, when both our 12 y/o sons showed up without masks, Patricia charged me 40c/son for a mask. They don't care about hospitality.
I recommend checking out Casa Islena which is located right down the road...
Read moreIf you're looking for an extremely barebones/ Airbnb experience then go ahead and book. ||The rooms were decent, and check in went smoothly even though I arrived after the desk was closed. Directions were very clear on how to get your key and access the gate for parking. ||The room I stayed in was alright. The bed was old, with a mattress topper that made the bed sheet constantly come off the bed. Overall the bed was very uncomfortable. You have no maid service so you need to ask for more towels which isn't the biggest deal but different than any other hotel typically. ||As for the beach, it's littered with debry from the ocean as well as broken tree limbs. There is beach access but there are NO CHAIRS available from the hotel. So be prepared to bring your own or buy some when you get there. (Or maybe use one of the tree limbs littered all over the beach as a chair) This was unexpected and not really advertised on the website. ||The pool is small, which isn't really a big deal. But it's basically beside the restaurant and entrance to the rooms so it feels very tight. ||The restaurant seemed alright, I only had drinks. The drinks are pretty pricey compared to the other places I went to in the area of Rincon. And after ordering my drink, my girlfriend did sit down on a cockroach larger than a half dollar. But the restaurant is outside so it can be expected. ||The hotel itself is not within walking distance to ANYTHING. There are no Ubers and I had no luck with the multiple taxi companies I was recommended. This kinda sucked since the bar and restaurant closes at 9pm. ||Me personally, I won't go back but maybe some people like the quiet barebones experience. Just be prepared to bring your own chairs for the beach, and maybe a cooler so you can have...
Read moreOn a rainy day my boyfriend and I decided to come have a drink. The establishment was not full and we weren’t allowed to sit where we wanted. They have assigned seats and if you are there to have a drink and enjoy the view, you cant sit on the balcony. You sit by the bar at most. The drinks were extremely over priced and not great. ($16 for a watered down mojito). Obviously not catered to the local crowd. When the manager asked us how things were and we told the truth (this last sentence) she proceed to escort us our of the ‘restaurant’. She called the armed security guard to escort us out and smile coily at us as we left. She didnt even allow us to explain why were unhappy with the service they had NOT provided. She just straight up asked my boyfriend and I to leave. Never in my life have I been treated like this. Like a criminal needed to be escorted by a armed security from the premises. Just for stating the fact that we werent allowed to sit near the beach view cause we were just there to have a drink, while the establishment was not full. This stands against what I feel is the way you treat a customer. Establishments like this are here to provide an experience and a service, not create disgust and a bad time for the customer. Specially local and frequent customers. And dont get me wrong the customers are not always right. My boyfriend and I were just customers who were just asking for a better experience from the service they are supposed to provide. Not an abuse of power from a manager who didnt even let us explain why we were unhappy with the service. I can say they have lost a customer who has been going to their establishment for...
