The lechon sandwich is amazing!! It isn’t dry or overly salty. It’s done right every single time!
Updated Review: My son and I went in to get sandwiches. We had been waiting all afternoon to smash on my favorite, The lechon sandwich. I was disappointed as soon as I picked up a sandwich. Not only did it feel empty, but when I opened it, it was empty. I’ve gotten the sandwich so many times that I know what comes on it and when I tell you, there was nothing on the sandwich but a little bit of meat. So I take it up to the front and The lovely lady in front asked me if everything was OK and I said girl no I’ve gotten this sandwich so many times and I know what comes on it and it’s empty! The young guy who I guess is now the cook looks at me with the silly face and says “oh yeah” He takes my plate and puts on two baby tomatoes on it .I sat down with my sandwich, opened it and was still disappointed, but I just ate it so that we could leave. I remember coming here when they first opened and the owner was so polite and generous, I remember telling my father that he had to come eat these sandwiches with me! We came in and the owner brought us little things that were on the menu for us to taste and try. Last winter when I was pregnant, after every doctors appointment, I would come here and eat a sandwich and be so happy!! And this is what I got today unfortunately, this is probably my last time coming to this restaurant. That’s how absolutely...

Arroz con gandules was decent...kinda dry, old tasting. The one my friend had from her lunch earlier was a lot fresher and flavorful. ($7 for about a 9-10oz cup size.)
The Cuban sandwich...🤦🏾♀️... cannot iterate how incredibly disappointed I am with this. Roasted pork was dry, tasted old and way over done (see pic). Slicing it thin like the ham is one way to prepare this, I guess. But biting into this, there was maybe 3 oz of meat for the whole sandwich. 🫤 Couldn't taste the mayo, mustard or pickles on this and not because the meat overpowered it.
The tostones...good! (Sorry no pic from me of this.) But small for the amount they are charging for them. 5 pieces (about an inch and a half in diameter) for $5? I know inflation is real, but dang.
Garlic mayo and chimichurru were also, good!
Customer service was nice at restaurant, to order, but highly disappointed with the food experience. They may be able to get away with these portion sizes and prices with the Riverside clientele, but not many others. I don't mind spending money on good food, but this was so lackluster. Won't be returning or recommending to neighbors and family. De Cache in Berwyn will continue to be my go-to for authentic...
Read moreFood is great here without a doubt. This review, is a word of advice, as a small business owner myself. If the restaurant opens up at 9 am like it says on the google page and on the front of the restaurant then as a consumer we expect to be able to place an order by 9 am. I arrived at 9 am to a closed restaurant and a worker waiting for someone to open. Finally at about 9:10 someone showed up to finally open and let the worker in. I decided to leave because I was sure that my order would not be taken until they got set up, turn the grill on and god knows if the cook was even there yet. It gives a bad look to small business owners that customers and employees have to wait until management/ownership decides to arrive at w.e time they please. I truly hope this was a one off situation. Running a business is not easy, but arriving there earlier than the opening time will take you guys a long way and speaks volumes about how important your...
