Riverside Cookie Shoppe — Restaurant in Riverside

Decided to try Pine Bakery for the first time. Came in one late afternoon and the display cases had very few items and were mostly empty. Place appeared a little dingy and old. There was a small table opposite the service counter that was a self-service coffee station with a couple of thermal carafes, styrofoam cups, plastic stirrers and a written sign for $1 coffee, all of which would be better out of public view behind the counter. Despite the looks of the place, we decided to try the relatively limited selections. The rum balls were probably the best of their offerings but the chocolate topping used was horrible and did not taste like chocolate at all. The eclair had he same awful chocolate topping and was stale. The little cupcakes tasted like cake mix that you can buy at any grocery store, frosting was manufactured and probably came in a bucket and the napoleon was not delicate at all and tasted more like a pop-tart. Service was okay. She gave us what we asked for and the conversation was kept to a minimum. No offer to help or suggestions on what was good. Maybe she didn't think anything was good at that bakery. Overall a disappointing experience. Not what one would expect from a local neighborhood bakery. Everything we tried was stale, over sweetened and nothing their staff can...

Cute little shop.. clean & bright! Stopped by real quick to pick up a gift... a couple cookies (hard to choose from the selection of 20+ flavors)!!!

Lady behind the counter was extremely sweet, friendly, and patient, as I took my time looking amongst the rows of heavenly treats & bugging her about the flavors that went with the names. I finally chose just 3 individual cookies (when I go back as a treat to myself we'll see if I only choose 3). ;)

She asked if they were a gift and since they were, she placed them in a nice little box with a doilie instead of just putting them in a bag. Amazing customer service! I'll be back! Hopefully these delicious little treats make it to their intended recipient.... wahahaha. Support local business! Especially when it's a fabulous little gem like this one! finger...

Came to McNair to have a vehicle serviced. So I browsed around for sweet treats and coffee. This spot popped up, within walking distance of me, so I gave it a go. 🤤 These cookies are delicious! Since it's late in the day these aren't fresh out of the oven, but you can taste these are freshly baked today! But omg are these cookies just perfect for me, a crunchy edge and soft chewy center. 🤤🤤🤤 I wanted to give them 5 🌟 but their coffe game lacks a lot. $2 for below basic quality coffe and no creamer options available - definitely didn't ask but it should of been available at the coffe station. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Nonetheless, it is a cookie shop and those cookies are...
