Quick overview: Overall this place is okay. Pretty standard pricing for a place like this. Taste was okay but not amazing. I would consider going again but if given the choice I'd make the trip to a Boiling Crab - but this place isn't a horrible alternative if you're close by and will satisfy your Cajun food craving.
Food: 3/5 Generally speaking the food is decent. They have good size shrimp and decent quality. However, I found the sauce a bit too powdery. At other places I usually ask for sauce on the side but there was no need to do that - they put plenty of sauce in the bag. Cajun fries were just okay, pretty bland and not much Cajun taste. It would have been nice to have spice options as well. We ordered our shrimp at the Holy Moly spice level but it's not spicy at all so that was a definite let down. They provided plenty of salt, pepper, and limes which was nice.
Service: 3/5 The servers were pretty nice and attentive. They kept our waters filled, asked if we wanted another beer, and answered all the questions we had. After a shift change they were pretty slow with getting us our check but when we finally got their attention they would help us out pretty quickly.
The space: 2/5 The space was pretty rundown. Outside of the men's restroom there was a sign apologizing for a foul odor coming from the vents. A lot of people like to wash their hands after eating at places like this but with only single restrooms, it built up lines of people waiting to wash their hands. They had TVs playing local news and played current hits music. The seating space is pretty small and could see possible issues with large groups however there was not much of a wait...
Read morePros: good friendly service, good flavor on the "Kick Me" medium spicy sauce, crispy chicken wings
Cons: Bland Garlic butter sauce, no flavor on the chicken wings or choice of flavors
First time here and I'd come back. Since we're in the Covid Era, I ordered it to go. 1lb garlic butter shrimp ($12 per lb)1 order red potatoes ($1.75) 3 corn ($.85 each), 1lb shrimp ($12 per lb) Kick Me sauce, 1 order red potatoes ($1.75) 3 corn ($.85 each), 2 orders chicken wings (6 for $6.5), and a side of fries ( big enough for sharing).
Only one hiccup was that while driving home, I think some of the shrimp continued to cook by the time I got home about 10 min later. So, some of the shrimp turned out mushy. I'm sure if the shrimp was eaten fresh it would have made a difference. Personally for me, the garlic butter sauce needed MORE GARLIC and a bit more salt. The shrimp tended to have a different aftertaste also, so I'm not sure if that's from the drive home. The medium level spice Kick Me sauce had the buttery, Cajun-y spice flavor and I would personally stick with this or upgrade 1 level hotter to the "Holy Moly".
Chicken wings were nice & crispy outside and moist inside, but seasoning nowhere to be found. Instead, there is just ranch sauce for dipping.
Fries were crispy on the outside and semi soft inside. Oddly enough I didn't see fries on the menu.
The parking lot is shared with other businesses, and the place is cozy. Also, Rockstar Shrimp is open for DINE-IN business! If you're doing a take away order they have to-go table coverings for convenience!

Read moreToday was my first visit. I ordered for pick up. 1 pound of shrimp and crawfish respectively. I asked for "mild". The guy on the phone said it would be 5 minutes. (Immediately already a bit suspicious. 5 minutes? ) Anyway after getting home, I noticed the smell is not the usual crab boil cajun delicousness. I still wanted to try, after all i just spent $30 for this food. The portions are great. I did not like the fact that they threw in some random lemon wedges in the food. (again, that's usually a sign that the food is not fresh and is trying to covered it with flavors) The size of the shrimp and crawfish are great. The flavor however... NO! First it was not seasoned at all. The mild spice was barely noticeable, i guess take extra spicy if you want to feel medium spice? The crawfish had a very horrible after taste. It tasted tart from the moment you bit into it. The shrimps felt chewy. From the taste, to the random lemons added, to the after taste, i would not recommend this place to anyone nor ever return. I am highly disappointed. I just wanted to try some place different than my usual place. I learned a hard lesson with this one. Two stars for the size of the seafood and the...
