Anytime I can consciously provide my business to mom & pop spots versus huge corporation, I am happy. To find out that the food is just as incredible as the business motto...i was thrilled. Why has no one told me about this spot on UCR? I've been tortured with stale and horribly boring sandwiches from Subway thinking that was my only option. From now on, goodbye mediocre and hello delicious!

I opted for their '12" Hot Pastrami Sandwich with cheese. You can choose from their 6" or "12 hot or cold cut sandwich. The sub was incredible and the hefty portion of pastrami with the beautiful composition of fresh veggies was a delight.

They have both indoor and outdoor (shaded) seating and your UCR Wi-Fi will reach over there if you're like me (stuffing your mouth and brain with homework).

Sub Station has been a local sandwich hangout since I was in high school in the late 1970s and early 1980s. From the get-go, I thought these were the best grinders I've ever had. In the 30+ years that this family-owned restaurant has served the community, the quality has been consistent. The price may be a bit higher than most subs, but the taste and quality is worth every bite. And the variety of choices is plentiful. My fave is #3 on the menu, cappicola, ham, and cheese 😋 Plus, the ambience is friendly and has that college feel—the Station sits right across the street from the UC Riverside softball field and track and field area. Best place to get lunch in all of Riverside. Free parking in the lot for all customers. Went with family today and tasted everyone's food. The Pastrami is great. We all LOVE the potato salad. I get the "Rich Wich" which is on toasted wheat sub, with marinated cucumber, melted swiss, and sooo much avocado. The Club Sub hit the spot, too. We also had the toasted Veggie and the pesto and roasted red peppers were delicious. They also have a party room that could seat big groups across the hall; that was a little quieter.
