I've been ordering at Aunty's for about a year or so and have always loved their food, going so far as to say one of the best Hawaiian places in Utah. But this time was different. This time was rough.

We ordered for pick up as we were on our way home and live just a few minutes away. We anticipated it taking them 20 or so minutes to get the order ready, which was in line with our timing. About 2 minutes later I was shocked with a notification that it was ready for pick up. Which means it was sitting there for about 20 minutes before we could get it, but all good, this happens with takeout.

We get home and the food tasted good, if a little greasier than normal. Once I finished the top layer of proteins and saw an enormous puddle of oil, or fat maybe from the pork. Something, but it was not appealing and I moved the rest of the food into a new container.

Middle of the night my husband starts running for the bathroom and come morning I'm debilitated by stomach cramps. I legit got one of the worst cases of FOOD POISONING I've had probably ever. I had to take work off and was just a zombie for two days.

I'm super disappointed as we have loved Aunty's in the past, even if every time we do Doordash they forget the spam musubi. (Literally at least 3 separate occasions before we just stopped ordering it.) But I think it's gonna be a while before I order there again.... I'm not into food poisoning, even if...

She communicated regularly which was very much appreciated. Even right up until the day before. She had everything packaged and ready to place out on the buffet line.

All of our guests raved about the food! We ordered Chicken Katsu, Garlic Chicken, Kalua Pig, Teriyaki Chicken, Green Salad, Mac Salad, Pan Noodles, & Rice. Onolicious! Chef's kiss! 🤌🏽💋

The pricing is very reasonable when you break down the numbers per person. I would even say that for the quality and amount of food you receive- Aunty's Hawaiian Kitchen blows the competition away! Unmatched here in the Salt Lake Valley for sure.

If I could give this place 10 stars for service, I would! Took my 80-year-old parents out for lunch. Decided to try a new place and ended up at Aunty's. As we were exiting our car, a gentleman came over and helped us get into the building, as it was quite cold and windy. Once inside, we realized he was the owner (manager? not sure which). The restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful as we asked questions about the menu. We ordered the teriyaki beef, garlic shrimp and teriyaki chicken. It looked so good that I couldn't even get my parents to wait for me to take a picture before they started eating! We got the mini size and the food was plentiful. Everything tasted delicious! As we were leaving the owner came to hold the door and help us get back into our car. Service above and beyond! The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish they had a set of double doors or a better heating system inside. It was quite cold throughout our entire meal. That being said.....We will definitely make this one of our permanent lunch spots (when the weather...
