Around 8:45 pm on thursday March 29th, my boyfriend took me to this DQ to get a blizzard. I have been sick with Mono and feeling terrible, so when I had the energy to finally get up he wanted to get me some ice cream.
First off, I always remembered a chocolate brownie blizzard with chocolate chunks/shavings in it. I asked the person on the intercom what was the closest thing to what I remember, and they said the royal brownie blizzard. That's fine, except it was $5 and change for a small and we did not feel like spending that much for a small amount of ice cream. (Nothing against DQ, just personal preference given the situation)
Once we pulled around, my boyfriend knocked on the drive thru window lightly to get her attention before she made the blizzard and we contributed to waste costs. She opened the window with the nastiest face, not even a smile, and asked if we could change it to the chocolate brownie blizzard under the Specialty blizzards. Her response was "so you just want chocolate and brownie" and I said no, I remember more to the blizzard. She slammed the window shut and was throwing her hands and looking at the menu like we were crazy.
I was so apalled because we just wanted to prevent wasting more product, that I gave up being niced and yelled "excuse me ma'am" and told her that I would just do chocolate ice cream and brownie, and we'd call it a day. She replies with "$4.42" and once again, still mind blown by the cost. My boyfriend didn't even feel comfortable giving her his card so we just drove off in complete shock.
Will never visit this Dairy...
Read moreThis is an update!- Since the renovation it looks nicer the inside looks better. I do still have a suggestion. First train your new employees on times before opening and or after closing. Two dress cleaner, went there a week ago. The trainee was so messy looking with food all over her, and the manager training her looked like he had not showered in a year. Sorry but if you are going to handle food or even work in the service industry, please wear a clean uniform, take a shower, because you are what we see first before a menu. Three - make sure all employees at Dairy Queens know how to make proper blizzards, and dipped cones. Sorry this is a pet peeve. Dairy Queen prides itself on the fact that all their workers should know how to do those two basic parts of their job. They marketed the curly" Q "on the cone and they want their workers to get it right. The blizzard is supposed to be able to turn upside down without running out. I know this because I have a friend who owns one in a different town and he knows how to train his employees. They know that if the cone is not made right or the blizzards are not they can lose money if people know the rule to if it is not made right. Hit those three suggestions and you will become one of the best DQ'S in Roanoke. Last point is not a suggestion it is common sense . Train the employees to be kind to the customers ." Customer is king." - Willy Diegal. ( I am pretty sure that is how you...

Once I seen why the prices were a lil high by a chart from owner he displayed after his employees kept getting yelled at it makes total sense!!! Iâm shocked they waited to change the prices for so long! They really do care about their employees and customers!!! Really disappointed as a community people can be so rude to the people making THEIR food. CRAZZZZZYYYYY. After chatting up employees and the manager while waiting on my food they got slammed and I watched two employees single handedly handle drive through In minutes!!!! I was impressed at speed and accuracy as they made blizzards and cones!!! Food was a lil slow getting out but manager said it was all cooked fresh to order because of a meat warmer. I donât mind at all I prefer fresh!!! And even with it fresh everything was out within seven minutes! I actually had an amazing time while waiting for my food!!!! Hats off to this location!!!! Even short staffed and all the nonsense they deal with they were in amazing spirits and held amazing customer service. Good job...
