I think this is the best barbecue north of Foley. Granted, that's kind of a low bar, but they do excel at brisket and are no slouches when it comes to ribs, either. I've tried both the green beans and mac & cheese sides and liked both, although my dining companion said the potato salad and beans were just 'meh'. He gave the ribs a thumbs up for being tender. The ribs and brisket both had a good smoke ring and bark, but the pulled pork seemed a little less smokey for some reason. It was good, but lacked a deep smoked flavor like some other area restaurants' pulled pork. I've also tried the chicken but it didn't really impress. It was reasonably tender but a touch on the dry side and the rub was kind of odd… I got the impression that there was some curry in the rub, which gave it a different flavor profile from what one might except from a Texas-style barbecue joint. Two sauces are on the tables, an OG (original) and sweet. Both are good in their own way, but the OG is more complex and has a deeper spiced nature to it; it goes well with the chicken and pork. Sweet tea was decent, but could be stronger. Better than most sweet tea you'll find in Texas, to be honest! But again… low bar. Overall, a pretty good barbecue restaurant. Worth going again and again for the brisket.

I originally rated Busters a 4/5 and have been there many times for work and regular visits. The customer service has continued to decline. When I notified them on their survey request about why my experience was not satisfactory, they told me I "should expect to wait." I've worked in BBQ places in the past and one great thing is the convenience of low prep times, so a brisket sandwich should not take 20 min to make, and they should at least come out chopped when you requested it. Portions have continued to get smaller and prices increased. Paid over $90 for four people with no drinks. it would have been better spent on groceries. Im giving the food 2/5 because it wasn't the worst but it wasn't par for what they've served before. They put slaw next to the buns so the buns were soggy. Meat not trimmed, I Chopped it myself in the picture after trimming it and it was barely enough to fit on a 3" bun. Everything needs a good wipe down in there too. I hope they'll do better because i want to see small businesses succeed, but I won't be back. I gave them a second chance today 5/20/24 and ordered a baked potato with pork. Service is still slower. The potato I received was not washed and there was dirt in the foil.

Definitely a place I would go back to. We ended up there because 2 other restaurants we looked at where closed which ended up working in our favor. A small BBQ restaurant with a variety of food and sauce options. Food was decently priced and portioned. Sweet Tea is good. Sides all looked great. The coleslaw tasted like it had granulated sugar dumbed and mixed into it but that may not be the norm. It is a small restaurant with limited seating for large parties. The staff was nice but can get overwhelmed during rush times. All food options that our party tried looked and tasted great. If you like pepper, try the white sauce. It was great. I would not mind stopping in again if I am in the area.

We went to Robertsdale from Pensacola and decided to dine out on the way back. We remembered an exceptional Chinese restaurant in Foley, the Jade Garden Chinese Restaurant so went there. Unfortunately, they were only allowing one pass through the buffet line due to the health dept./Wuhan scare. We remembered a unique sounding El Rey Mexican and Greek Restaurant back in Robertsdale, so we headed there. But it was closed. The next choice was Buster's BBQ. WOW!!! To start, I got the Brunswick stew. This was loaded to the top with ingredients and has little liquid. The flavor was like a mild Mrs. McFearnow's (sp?) Brunswick stew. My wife said that this was the first Brunswick stew she ever had that she liked. For our main courses, my wife got the two meat platter of chicken and beef brisket with okra and slaw. I got the two meat platter of beef brisket and pork, with okra and sweet potato. The meats were all at a whole other level than the only place I know to compare it to, Sunny's (Nothing wrong with Sunny's.). But here, the meats were so much better, moist, but the brisket had a well done crust on some of it that was nothing short of amazing. The only negative at all was a larger amount of fat in the meat than I am used to. Both my wife and I agreed that the okra was the best fried okra we'd ever had anywhere. The sweet potato was good, but nothing special for me. I didn't try the slaw, but was told by my wife that it was largely comparable with Foosackly's slaw, except that Buster's was marginally better. The service was warm and efficient like you might always hope for in a non-chain restaurant. This was easily the best experience I've ever had at a BBQ restaurant even though generally I would prefer NC style BBQ (The style here was...

This was possibly the single worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Would give it negative stars if I could. The workers were nice but the food was bland, I have had better mac and cheese from a kraft box, the meat was disgusting and soggy. Cheap, generic ingredients. I told the server we couldn’t even eat this and would like a possible refund. He said the wife/owner was coming to discuss it so I waited. Then the owner/husband calls before wife arrives and the employee calls me to phone to talk to him. I answer and the owner/husband is cussing me out, falsely accusing me that I am not going to pay even though we had not even discussed a refund yet, or the circumstances, to call the police on me not paying even though I never said I refused to pay but wanted to see what they were willing to do. The owner Ben Alleman was threatening, used foul language, harrassing. I paid the full amount and felt like I was robbed the food was so awfuI and of such poor quality. I never once said I would not pay but told the server I was struggling to have to spend my hard earned money on this food that was inedible and would like to discuss it with manager/owner. We all took a few bites and stopped eating it was so bad. I almost gagged on the meat. Will be reporting this to every authority in the State of Alabama. Run from this place. Should be shut down. The owner has serious anger management problems and zero customer service skills, if not criminal behavior due to the threats and harassment. I have never been treated in such a harassing manner in all my life. Feel sorry for the employees working under this owner with unhinged...

We are locals and used to frequent Buster's and it was always great. Over the past few years it has just gone downhill. Not sure if the owners are just not present to see what's going on? One disappointing experience was when my family sat down and the 1st THREE things we tried to order they told us they were out of so we left. Another time, they had an amazing burger in the past and my husband ordered it. The burger was dry and tasteless, just totally not the same. When asked how everything was, he told them the burger was just different - not the usual burger. The waiter said, "Well, that's our burger, that's how it is every time." What? Why did you ask then? Today we entered at 11:30am for lunch. Every last table was dirty and the restaurant was empty. They obviously weren't prepared for a busy lunch day. We sat at a dirty table that hadn't been wiped yet and menus were stat in front of us anyway with trash and liquid on the table. We were asked what to drink... Not sure what went on there. We were there 10 minutes and we were only given 2 of our 4 drinks... Other people were sat and asked what to drink with another waiter immediately on it. Why? Again, maybe a lack of owner presence and untrained waiters. We have given them "one more try" multiple times in hopes we'll have an experience like we used to have, but it's consistently disappointing. We actually...
