Having recently moved to the Pittsburgh area, this type of food is a little harder to find. Living not too far from this restaurant we thought we would give it a try. Went for dinner on 4/8/2016....first thing they tell me is they are out of "Hummus"...should have been my first clue since this is a main part of this cuisine! My husband order the #1 (Zeus) and I ordered a simple chicken gyro. After we sat down my husband was looking at the menu and got up to ask a question regarding his choice. He simply asked "Are the Fries ON the Sandwich?" The girl working stated "Yes" and my husband asked very politely if they could be put on the side (Not being from PA we don't get the concept of fries on everything and don't care for it) She sharply snapped "NO"...my husband pondered for a minute and simply said.."Can I ask Why?" She barked...THAT'S OUR POLICY and would have to charge us for a side of fries. My husband then replied...can you just leave them off? She again snapped that she would have to refund us money...he told her he wasn't worried about the money just don't put them on the sandwich. My husband sat back down at the table which was right next to the grilling area where she then proceeded to COMPLAIN OUT LOUD about us and the fact that he didn't want fries on his sandwich. She went on for a period of time....HELLO...WE CAN HEAR YOU!!!! I jumped up because I was obviously on fire and was going to ask for my money back and leave however, I was the bigger person and ate my food (I have had better) and walked out NEVER to return! I have never seen such an awful display of stupidity by someone who is in the "Customer Service Industry"...perhaps she shouldn't be! While eating I was watching the other young female take selfies while she was cooking food on the grill....maybe the manager should stick around before they have more customer's running for the door! I will never return and make sure I let others know of...
Read moreI read such positive reviews about this place and since I absolutely LOVE Mediterranean food I stopped in while visiting the area. The ladies working the lunch shift on the day I went were pleasant. The menu is interesting, as they do some unique stuff with gyros and sauces on them, so I opted for the Habanero Hades and for a side, I tried their spanakopita.
While waiting for the food, I noticed the napkins at the tables were paper towels removed from the roll and cut in half with scissors… rather odd. The gyro came out first and it was stuffed and looked decent, but it was a little on the salty side and definitely very dry. I had to go ask for more of their tzatziki to put on it. The tzatziki was unlike any I’ve had before as it was smooth, not chunky with cucumbers and garlic and other things in it and of those flavors. It was slightly bland, but had a decent heat.
The Spanakopita was ok, nothing special. When I asked for more sauce, they actually charge $.86 for a small sauce cup of it, I found that odd too.
Overall, I was middle of the road with this visit and thought I might try it again some other time to see if this visit was just a fluke, but when I got back to my hotel my stomach really didn’t appreciate the food I just ate, which rarely happens to me. So, after that part of the experience too, I can’t say...
Read moreDon't go here. Ordered today with a good size order and almost nothing was eaten because of how disgusting it is. The chicken tenders were so overcooked the breading fell off and looks like a leather sandal. Their "taziki" IS NOT taziki. It's a feta water with spices. Anyone that has actually had a gyro with a taziki sauce on it would know the difference or just has no idea what a real gyro is. The fries were hard and dry. The only good thing was the dressing for the Greek salad and I'm sure that was from a bottle from a store. We called and we're told that a real taziki "doesn't have cucumber" lol. Be warned, this is not where you want to waste your money. Thanks for a horrible birthday dinner.
My response to owners. Please look over your orders again as you are wrong. We orders at 3:30 and picked it up at 4. If you wish to lie please do it on someone that won't reply back to it. We ordered through your site online NOT through door dash. As for you saying "authentic" I have to disagree as a Greek myself with roots to Greece. A proper taziki has cucumber, garlic, yogurt, well I'm sure you understand. I would still...
