I am enormously disappointed with the way the staff treated my friend and me. I am unable to determine if it was lack of professionalism, rudeness, ineptness, prejudice, or sheer stupidity.
While I was receiving physical therapy in the same strip mall, my friend placed an order for me with a lady at the cash register. He left it under my name. She, as my friend explained, was entering the information under another employee's supervision. He left.
When I went to pick up the order half an hour later, the lady was confused and said no order had been placed under my name. Had the place been busy I might have understood. But there were at least three people working there and not a customer in sight.
A gentleman working in the back came out and said "I take it that was the guy who didn't pay when he ordered. It's company policy and we can't put it through without payment."
I am white so I asked if because my friend was black there was some confusion over who had placed the order. My friend came in and said that the lady at the register was the very person who had taken the order. Neither she nor the person training her ever told him he had to pay in advance.
Although the lady and man said they could have a pizza ready for me in 10 minutes I was too pressed for time and had to leave. No apology was forthcoming.
I swore under my breath as I was leaving and vowed never to return. I will be being treated in this complex for the next six months. I would rather go home hungry that submit to this level of incompetence and lack of care for me as a customer.
I will let this review be my...
Read moreEvery once in a while I get a craving for chain pizza, and Papa John's is one of my favorites. I'm really confused by some of the negative reviews here, because I honestly have had great experiences both as a customer and a grubhub/doordash driver (I have no affiliation with the restaurant as a driver for those services).
I had a ton of points on my account, I just moved to Pittsburgh in May and lived in an area with a papa johns in town. Their points system was just updated - I got two large pizzas, cheese sticks, and a 2 liter for 78 cents with my points and a coupon code. You can't beat that.
As a grubhub/doordash driver, I can't appreciate this location enough. As I said, I don't have any affiliation with Papa John's as a courier for those companies. Most restaurants that have their own delivery drivers (as this location does) will treat you poorly, because they see you as their competition. This location is always extremely nice to me, and gives me my delivery order ASAP.
Pro tip: Use the website to order, every option is there, you can customize your items, and you can use coupon codes and points to get discounted items. Another reviewer went off about a worker not understanding him over the phone, that could have been avoided the website were...
Read moreOrdered a stuffed crust. Apparently 2 toppings is too much for a stuffed crust and it was extremely floppy and all the toppings and sauce fell off.
We were told “every papa John’s pizza is like that” but the manager. We were also told “stuffed crust pizzas are thinner because it’s a stretched out large and so extra toppings cause it to fall off”.
We inquired why this isn’t advertised or notated so people can avoid the stuffed crust or more than 2 toppings and was cut off and told “We will put it in the next advertisement, we’ll start advertising it”
So incredibly rude to someone just calling to ask if floppy soggy wet under cooked pizza is normal just to be told all papa John’s pizzas are made like that, they will start advertising the pizza as floppy, and then to top it off said there was no corporate number for papa John’s.
You better hope you order when they are in a good mood and hope you are lucky enough for your order to A) Be right (HUGE ASK AT THIS LOCATION) B) Be of reasonably edible quality (Rare)
And if either condition isn’t met the manager will tell you to...
