I waited a week before writing a review because I wanted to be âclear mindedâ before posting. With that being said, Iâm new to the area and needed my hair colored. Nothing fancy, I was already a natural blonde who just wanted a âsplashâ of summer. So I looked around online, found Ulta Salon which had good reviews, I called and booked an apt for a full head of highlights with a trim. Simple right? ... I arrive at my apt, showed the hairdresser a few pictures, she assured me she could achieve the picture and gave me reassurance that she has 15 years of experience on the job, I told her perfect! Do what you need to achieve the picture. Next thing I know she is darkening my roots, bleaching the middle of my hair, not using foils at all!! I ask her what technique she is using and she tells me she is winging it .... I give her the benefit of the doubt and just wait. Three hours in and itâs Time to wash my hair, as she is washing my hair , she is starting to stutter and tells me to wait and she is going to do more, so I wait at the skink, no mirror , not knowing what is going on, she returns and she tells me she is going to give me a bleach bath with purple shampoo and toner. Now I am not a hairdresser by any means but this I know isnât good for your hair. Another stylist comes up and questions what she is doing , she tells the other stylist to not tell anyone. At this moment I realize while my head is under the water that this cannot be good! She drys my hair, we walk back over to the chair and I finally see my hair... I have brown , orange and white hair. All I could say is âI have orange hairâ , stylists responds âitâs not orange itâs warmthâ . At this time it is now closing, the stylist tryâs to get me to leave and tells me I can come back in four weeks for a second apt! I told her I cannot leave here with orange hair. She tells me âwell we are closed so you can come back tomorrow morning and someone else can fix your hairâ, trying not to cry I tell her again I canât leave with orange hair and she has to fix it. I ask her if she can just put me back to my orig color, she says yes it will only take me 20 mins. Again Iâm skeptical but what else can I do? She uses one color over my whole head! Yes you read that right! The same color over three different colors! Color is in, waited for processing, now washing time. While my head is in the sink and she finishes washing. She says â please donât freak out, donât freak outâ. Now the time is an hour and half after closing. And if someone tells me not to freak out, I just know itâs bad. We get you the chair and I see my hair, itâs BLUE GREEN GREY BROWN. yeah.. my hair looks like it is Chlorine damaged. The stylist is again getting rude and aggravated and Iâm just trying not to cry!
Also. I called the salon on Monday ( the next day) asking to speak to a manager, informed the manager of my concerns and she wasnât pleasant and told me I would need to come in that day before 5 to be assessed to see if they can even fix it or not. I informed her I donât get off until 5 so that wonât work for me and her response to that was basically âto badâ ...

Suggestions to Ulta Salon: salon workers should have a dress code or uniform, most unprofessional attire Iâve ever seen in an establishment. & Management on shift to overlook style and colors can intercept issues like this.

I placed a curbside order for two products and showed up over two hours later, after seeing online they werenât even moderately busy all day. They did not supply any instructions on how to use curbside or how the process works so I tried to navigate it myself. I went when I did because I had a final to take online shortly and didnât expect curbside to take more than a few hours. I called and said I had arrived, they said on the phone weâll be right out with your order. Shortly after a worker comes to my window with horrible attitude, expressing that I should not be there without a confirmation email. Again, Iâve never used curbside before so I wasnât aware, she cut me off before I could apologize and say it was my first time. Continued to give me horrible attitude saying she doesnât know what to tell me and Iâm gonna have to wait. Iâve never in my life experienced that type of attitude from any worker at any type of establishment. Iâve worked in retail for 4 years and have never given any customer an attitude even when they gave me every reason to give attitude. Iâve never even left a bad review for a place, thatâs how horrible this worker made me feel. Iâm never one to complain, but with the new procedures going on and all the stress in the world, I donât think itâs hard to just be kind to people because you never know what someoneâs dealing with. I will definitely never return to this location, and suggest to anyone to go to an Ulta with more friendly and mannered staff.    Read moreThe Ulta Beauty employee obviously wasnât being very knowledgeable about a lot of applying my makeup and working under a specific timing. I would not be getting makeup done at any Ulta Beauty ever again or my hair being styled. The gentleman who was handling my makeup had taken way too long and was focusing on a subject that I had no interest in. I kept having to retouch up my own makeup multiple times and was getting frustrated as kindly as I could. The store manager came over wanting to see âhow they could helpâ and I felt like I was getting the pity convo and guilt shame thinking it was me the reason why my appt took forever . He had to get another associate to finish my styling hair snd she worked a lot faster than he had did the first 2 3/4 hours on my makeup. Also on another note, please have your employees freshen up their body odor before taking a another client. Philâs body odor was very terrible and I have a very sensitive sense of smell when it comes to odors.. I felt I wanted to pull away because it truly smelled like a hobo who havenât bathe in days.
By the end of my appt I was only given a 10%off my appt which I truly that was a absolute rob âŚ. I was expecting maybe 50% since I was fixing my own makeup and not to mentioned also at home which came out a lot prettier.
Is there any way I can just get a refund of just the makeup application fee?
I believe Amanda (red hair associate) she had to take over to finish my curls and she knocked it out of the park. That woman is definitely a pro about styling. I give kudos to her to styling my hair under a stressful little time I had left...
