My husband and I visited Fuji Sushi & Grill on Saturday, June 7, 2025, and had a very disappointing experience. I’m currently pregnant and was really looking forward to a healthier meal, but one of the sushi rolls I ordered was completely drenched in sauce — it had soaked the roll and pooled in the container, making it inedible. I’ve had eel sauce before, usually lightly zigzagged on top of the roll but this was excessive.
We ordered 30–45 minutes before closing, but didn’t receive the food until just before they shut down. When we discovered the issue, we went back to politely ask if just that one roll could be remade. The staff said the kitchen was closed, which we respected. So we asked for a partial refund instead. The owner refused, saying no one had ever complained in 20 years and pointed to a small sign in the restaurant saying you could request sauce on the side — something we didn’t know as first-time customers, especially since the menu didn’t mention sauce at all.
I calmly knocked on the door hoping to speak with the owner directly. I wasn’t aggressive or confrontational in any way — but he came to the door holding up a phone or tablet showing he had called 911. A police officer eventually showed up and asked the same questions we had. The owner still refused to refund or remake anything.
We were left shocked, disrespected, and out the cost of a meal I couldn’t eat. Sushi isn’t cheap, and this was a ridiculous overreaction to a simple, polite complaint. We weren’t trying to escalate anything — we just wanted basic customer service and fairness. Instead, we got hostility and law enforcement involvement over...
Read moreI had to give this 1 star because I couldn't give it any less. My boyfriend and I decided to try Fuji after hearing great reviews. Long story short we decided to try the O.M.G roll and another specialty roll (which I can't even remember the name of at this point) which keep in mind the rolls were supposed to be buy one and get the second half off...we ended up paying 25 dollars for 2 "specialty" rolls..anyway besides the point....back to the OMG roll, i would have rather ate road kill. It was probably safer than eating this roll. They literally roll the sushi in foil and light it on fire....WITH LIGHTER FLUID!!!!! Once the roll is "done cooking" you are supposed to pull the foil back and eat your "sushi" I have never eaten something more awful in my ENTIRE life. It literally tasted like I drank lighter fluid. I did not taste fish, sauce, rice, seaweed, anything of the sort. STRAIGHT LIGHTER FLUID. I would NEVER recommend eating "sushi" here EVER!!!!!!!! Needless to say I came home and had food poisoning. Not sure if it was food posioning or the fact I just drank / ate half the bottle of lighter fluid. The fact that the do not disclose they light their food on fire using lighter fluid is insane and definitely a health hazard. NEVER EVER EVER eat at...

My boyfriend convinced me to go here when our regular sushi place was closed, saying he went there weekly when he lived in the area and the owner was great.
When we got there, there was one other table. The owner spent the entire time focusing on them and was really short when we ordered.
Between the time we ordered, the other table ordered three different rolls. He made them one by one and bought them the food they ordered after us before even starting on our rolls.
He regularly talked to them and didn't acknowledge us. He offered them extra sauce. We had to ask for it. We also had to wait for him to get them sauce and have a 5 minute conversation about said sauce before we got ours.
I understand they were paying more, but he totally ignored us. He gave us out food after a 40 minute wait. At that point, instead of enjoying the food, we just ate it with the goal of getting out of there.
This was my boyfriend's favorite place and before we even left he had said we're never going back...
