LA Fitness — Local services in Robinson Township

Been a member for over 7 years only because of the affordability. But I must say, this is the least clean gym I’ve ever visited and for the size of the gym, they do a terrible job of optimizing the space for the most utility to their members. All weights and machines are upstairs. They have many machines that are almost never in use but they continue to keep them, taking up space that could be used for more free weight training or machines that would garner more use from members. They seldomly upgrade equipment which makes you wonder where the membership dues are being re-invested into the gym. Recently, they have been taking equipment away from the communal weight room and moving it to the designated area of personal training clients. This is creating a lot of traffic in the weight room as equipment that previously was available for all is now limited to the few who pay a little extra. Instead of taking away equipment from your paying members, why not buy new stuff for the personal training clients?for example, there were 2 non-stationary benches in the weight room until they recently moved 1 to the personal training area permanently, leaving 1 non-stationary bench for the rest of the members to fight over. At any given time there are probably 100 regular members in the gym and maybe 5 receiving personal training….make it make sense…..If you free weight train, the dumbbells and barbells are in terrible condition and are seemingly never replaced. And once you’re lucky enough for it to be your turn to have a bar, use a squat rack, bench, etc there will likely not be anywhere for you to safely train without being shoulder to shoulder with someone else (because of their crowded setup and really terribly thought out use of the space). Last point may be petty but, there are several TVs in the gym that only ever display LA Fitness advertisements. No sports, no news, just their weird ads.Who...

This gym is so gross. I tried to enter four stalls in the ladies room and they were absolutely filthy with... I don't wanna mention it... use your imagination! We go to the gym to get healthy but this place is a health HAZARD! I think I'm going to file a complaint with the health department. It's that bad. The air conditioning was broken today, when the temperature was 93 outside. Air conditioning is required on a day like today and if the gym can't provide it, it needs to close down. I saw some older gentlemen who looked like they were about to pass out. The most unbearable heat due to broken air conditioning was in the ladies room, and I've already mentioned how disgusting that was. Add what felt like 110° heat to the stink and the dirtiness. From the presence of all the cheap fans they have hung on the walls, I don't even think they have air conditioning in the weight room. I can't believe I paid over $200 initiation fee for such a ripoff. Nobody cleans and nobody cares. I can't imagine even ONE person pooping all over the place in a Ladies' Room toilet stall. Here there were FOUR "LADIES" who did that! Did they overdose on steroids... or Ex-Lax?! (Or maybe just one person goes in there everyday and poops up the place... nobody ever checks or cleans anything so who knows how long it's been there. That poop may be fossilized by now.) As of 2/1/2021 I can honestly say they are trying to get staff hired to clean the place up . And they have management in there now that wants to fix it up. The staff they have are very helpful . I will also say that the members need to clean up after themselves and put your weights back when you are done with them. Please do not leave them racked of the equipment. The hot tub still dont work right but thats the pool companys fault. If you want a gym with a pool and hot tub do not go to this gym. The pool area is always broke down. Every year it is closed from August to December. When you ask that's going on he gets silver shrug and told I don't know. The New Management has no people skills and is rude. The bathroom is always dirty. I've been a member for years and things still haven't changed. The place is dirty and the hot tub jets don't work.. the shower haven't been cleaned since the district manager did it 4 months ago. They say they can't get people to work but there is always staff sitting around the front desk. They have air bubbles blowing into the hot tub because the jets don't work. The hot tub is set at 101 . It's never hot . It should be at 102 to 103. I will say some of the training staff are nice...
