Who would have guessed there's a Mexican restaurant with food worse than Don Carlos? That was a pretty low bar, but at least their food was edible, if bland.
I ordered the sour cream enchiladas, and the sour cream sauce tasted like bagged paste that I would have guessed belonged in a glue bottle. The chicken was also so bland and in the end I couldn't even force myself to finish my entrée. The beans were also pretty bad. The rice was okay, I guess, and the random salad of lettuce/tomatoes looked really pretty (at least by Mexican restaurant standards), but overall, the food wasn't worth what I paid for. Especially since I couldn't bring myself to finish it. The only good thing about this place was the service and how clean it all looked. I thought something was off when I saw how the pictures looked in the menu, but I passed it off as the classic pretty plastic food for the camera, but no, the actual food looked just as off.
Seriously, owners, taste test your own food, that sour cream sauce...
Read moreThe food was not great. We ordered fajitas and the veggies were completely raw and the meat was not very hot. We complained to the waitress. She asked if we wanted to send them back but we already waited 20 minutes to get the food and had an appointment to be at. No time for waiting. This wasnt during a busy time. It was around 1:30. An employee came out from the kitchen and got some chips out of the chip bucket. No gloves and no scoop used. Just put his hand in the bucket and grabbed some chips and proceed to eat them. A waitress wiped down several tables without rinsing the rag between tables. Once she was done wiping the tables she wiped the floor with the rag and than put the rag back on the rack where she got it from. Maybe there needs to be some training to the employees. We will not be going back. We were so hopeful this would be a good place to eat at...
Read moreThis is a great little Mexican restaurant. I haven't tried a wide variety of menu items yet, but the Enchiladas Rojas are excellent, along with the crunchy tacos, and the lemonade is much closer to traditional Limonada and is a great drink option.
Prices are extremely fair, and the restaurant even has a drive thru that serves food at the exact same quality as sit down. The best part about the drive thru is that you still get a bag of chips with your order just like if you had ate inside.
I seriously wish this place the best because it's become one of my favorites in Waco, especially for the price and fast quality of the drive thru. I've been back many times and...
