Starbucks — Restaurant in Rochester

*Resubmitting since I accidentally submitted to the West Circle Hyvee location when my review is for the Commerce location near CostCo. My daughter and I went for the BOGO on 7/30/24 around 12:40pm. The lady that took our order was friendly but the guy who took my phone to scan my rewards ended up having an attitude. He scanned my phone then told me my total was $12 something. I reminded him it’s BOGO. He went around the corner to the cash register (assuming), came back, and said it’s half off. I asked what the total was and he rolled his eyes and started to head back to I’m assuming the cash register when he then turned around and handed me my one coffee and said, “forget it, you can just have it”. As the window was shutting, I mentioned I had another drink. Not sure what he said but I think it was that he was making it. (Like I said the window was half closed). I waited and another lady brought my coffee. I asked her what the guy’s problem was but she didn’t say anything. I told her I didn’t pay and I proceeded to pay. I normally don’t like to complain but I was thrown off by this service when all I did was ask for my total. I understand ppl have bad days but if it’s the same guy I see standing around when all the other workers are busy making drinks then maybe he should...

The staff is very friendly. Kendra is the best and needs a raise. She tries to get to know the customer and always asks how I am doing. That is what I call great customer service.

They work extremely hard and wish you a good day even in the busiest days. The fireplace is a great little addition especially on cold days. It’s usually clean and my order is usually on point. There were a few times my order wasn’t right, but they are always happy to fix it.

Stopped by on a Sat at 11:15 and it was extremely busy so they had the register closed due to staffing issues and we had to order through the app. This is unfortunate for those who use reusable cups because you don’t get the extra points ordering through the app. Would love to see a resolution to this issue since it’s a tad annoying to try and find a parking spot(when busy), go inside and find out you can’t order at...

This is actually one of the few great Starbucks left. Great service and incredibly fast. Baristas are friendly. Store is CLEAN.

The catch is you have to actually get out of your car and go inside as opposed to waiting in the drive through line!

EDIT: I’ve been A-B testing tipping at this location. I wait on average 3x longer when I don’t tip a single dollar vs tipping a single dollar. I go consistently at the same time and order a cold brew.

Tipping does not command good service. Good service commands tipping. 3 stars now....
