I went into the restaurant with a severely handicapped man. We were greeted with judgmental eyes by the server. I travel the world, drink and judge the finest wines, eat the best foods, and write about them. Some locals told me that this restaurant would be better than the candlelight claiming that “everything is better than the candlelight.” After I arrived, I learned that this is supposed to be a higher-end restaurant, owned by the candlelight. It basically was the candlelight with high prices. The wine list was the worst I have ever seen for a restaurant this expensive —mainly over expensive California fruit-bombs with no attention to old-world wines. When I saw a $79 steak on the menu, I thought to myself ‘ I don’t even see these prices in New York City.’ In fact, I was just at a very high-end steakhouse where my Steak was only $38. My brother-in-law ordered a $25 hamburger; I couldn’t figure out why they would charge $25 for that. It didn’t even have a disguise to make it look like it was worth $25. It was a five-dollar hamburger with the price of $25. I had the scallops. They were OK. Basically they had heat and salinity, but really, no complementary acids except a little bit through the tomatoes.. I finally found a lemon wedge underneath the pile. But that really didn’t do the job. I have to say that the Oktoberfest beer I had was really good. The waitress was kind and provided the best service she could offer but she did also did not understand fine cuisine nor wines especially. Basically, this is a less-than average place with a very high-end price. I don’t think I will go back next time I am in town. You certainly won’t find wines to pair well with the food. This...

The cap was completely removed and there was very little marbling in what was served. Very little flavor and the sauce that was on the steak should have been left in the kitchen. Also when paying that much for a cut of meat, remove the bone and serve the entire steak. The a-la-cart potatoes that were served were ok at best. We ordered Crème brûlée for desert, and we weren't impressed with that either. It was served burnt, and it wasn't totally set. So the Crème part was super runny. The only part of my meal that was "good" was the fried mozzarella. The last picture of the uncooked ribeye is for your reference. That is what a ribeye looks like and is what should be served. Please stop trying to look fancy, just make great food and everything else will fall into place. Remember "you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is...
