Global Brew — Restaurant in Rock Hill

The atmosphere is nice. Definitely a plus when you can go outside on the warmer days as they have a really comfortable patio.

For some reason the bartenders (beertenders??) always seem a little grouchy and annoyed. I'm hesitant to say something like this in an online review because I know some people can just be having a bad day but it's been like that 3 of the 4 times I've gone which is weird considering they're just pouring beer and my interaction with the staff is extremely limited. I casually mentioned this to a group of friends and most of them had a similar experience which is why I'm posting it here.

One more thing, they put all their tapped beers on little interchangeable chalkboards which is nice but they don't include the price or beer style. This may not be an issue for some, but I like to know what I'm ordering so this forces me to stand in front of the board Googling the beers because the majority of the time they only include the name and brewery. To be fair iTap doesn't include the price on the board either, but they have printed menus and at least I know the beer style at a glance (eg. Stout, IPA, Gose, etc). I can't say with 100% certainty that Global Brew doesn't have a printed beer menu, but everytime I ask someone just points to the large wall...

Saint Louis is blessed when it comes to beer options, we have some of the best craft beer breweries and a number of equally awesome beer bars.

Global Brew is one of those awesome craft beer bars that really knows their beer, seriously the staff here is super knowledgeable and passionate about beer. Best of all they have a huge selection of both draft and bottled beer available for purchase. Food isn't available, however you are more than welcome to bring your own or order delivery. There are also a number of TVs so you can stay current on the Cardinals or Blues standings, however if sports aren't your thing there is also a patio area that is perfect for evenings with friends.

Global Brew also hosts regular events, and brings in local but also some national brewers to discuss their beer with fans. Overall GB is an awesome venue serving us some great craft beer, so do yourself a favor and...

Trivia Review: I want to gatekeep the information and tell you this is a terrible bar for trivia. But unfortunately I can’t do that; it is the best.

The atmosphere is perfect mixture of people taking it seriously but not trying too hard. Not like those places that only play to a specific age group or audience, and 99% of the crowd is participating so you aren’t dodging random patrons. It can get crowded. General trivia is always a great mixture of topics, rarely repeated. Rotating and reasonably priced draft selection, straightforward service, and the convenience of being able to bring in (or order) your own food.
