So I have to stay tonight that I went in the Newsies and I walked away scratching my head. Since the years that we went and eaten here and supported this restaurant I go in tonight and we go in and out order a $7 gyro I get a small tea and a order of five onion rings. says the food comes out the onion rings aren't really that hot but not really that fresh but you know what I chose not to complain about it I was just happy to have some food. As we're sitting there I began to look at the bill and realize that my mail went from a bill that should have been roughly $9 and some change to over $15. So is the waitress comes over at we ask and say hey why is my gyro over $15 in the other one is under 10 why is that. The waitress informed to tell me that for the onion rings that they're an extra $5 she said that the french fries with a combo are only 250 and form to tell me that there's another charge for the onion rings that makes them almost $6 for by the way five just okay onion rings it actually weren't hot, and continued and kind of looked at me and said quietly yeah it's not really reflected on the menu I don't think that's right either as I looked at her and said well if it's not reflected on the menu how how is that and she said I don't think it's right either so something tells me I'm not the first person to actually say hey this isn't right. As a family who's been supporting Missy g's for a long time and this and this in this town locally as many others do it makes me wonder how many more menu items and this is Jesus padding their pockets with on people who aren't seeing their bills correctly and things that aren't on the menu. As I begin to think I was thinking what if a single mother comes in with four kids and all the kids decide to order onion rings and they're thinking they're a couple bucks and every order of these onion rings ends up being a $7 order, what would that do to her pockets and finances. As someone who has run business I never did anything that there was not a price out front or that somebody could see. This makes me wonder how long this is has been happening here , something tells me a long time. n town how many local people if they knew this would say you know what I'm not going back there because that feels like they just stole from me.Because to be honest with you that's kind of what it feels like. I understand that through covid and all these things in order for businesses to stay afloat that certain things had to be done including price increases. These things are appreciated, but you know when local establishment I would think that if you guys need to make more, you would be honest enough to make this increase evident. I also feel the waitress, as she knows this was a big price increase, that most likely has had many others saying " hey something's wrong". Was not looking out ultimately for her customer, and ultimately, her pockets. Walked away feeling very jaded with...
Read moreA Perfectly Fried Disappointment After multiple visits to Nishie G's and several orders of their flounder breakfast plate, I feel compelled to share my experience with fellow diners. The Good The preparation technique at Nishie G's deserves recognition. On most occasions, the flounder is fried to absolute perfection – the exterior achieves that ideal golden-brown crispness while maintaining a proper texture inside. The consistency of their frying technique demonstrates skill in the kitchen. The Disappointing Unfortunately, technical execution is only part of what makes a dish worth ordering. Where Nishie G's falls noticeably short is in the flavor department. Despite the visual appeal and textural success, the flounder breakfast plate is persistently bland and underseasoned. Even after giving the dish multiple opportunities to impress, the lack of proper seasoning remains a significant issue. A well-executed piece of fried fish should celebrate the delicate flavor of the flounder while enhancing it with complementary seasonings. Instead, what could be a standout dish ends up being forgettable due to this fundamental oversight. Final Thoughts While Nishie G's demonstrates promising cooking technique with their perfectly fried flounder, the consistent lack of flavor makes it difficult to recommend the breakfast plate. With just a more thoughtful approach to seasoning, this dish could transform from mediocre to memorable. Until then, diners seeking a flavorful fish breakfast might want to look elsewhere or request extra seasoning...
Read moreMy wife and I have lived in Rock Hill since 2009. I came up to work as a contractor at Piedmont Medical Center, and after I first started my job, my co-workers wanted to take me out to lunch. Of course, I had no idea where to eat, but they assured me Nishi G's was the place to go for lunch in Rock Hill. Well, fast-forward to 2022, and this restaurant is my wife and I go to for lunch on weekdays. We have since expanded our family from 2 to 5 oh, now having a two-year-old, a three-year-old, and a six-year-old. We feel like the restaurant staff is our extended family, always feeling welcome, even with our children. If you want a laid-back, great Greek restaurants, with fast service, I highly recommend Nishi Gees. If you don't have time to sit for a long meal, perfect. If you want to have a meeting that's a bit more lengthy, perfect. I've never had a bad experience here and I look forward to continuing to dine here. Thank you guys for making our new home in Rock Hill so great for the...
