Had high hopes for this place. However, let's take it from the top. Driving into the parking lot, the places exterior looks clean and neat. Location is perfect for off the beaten path exploring and screams 'come here!' Walking into the restaurant, we weren't immediately greeted, which was okay. It gave us the chance to spot the unique pancake deal they do for breakfast. Upon turning the corner, we were met with the hostess and a huge, amazing looking, clean salad bar and clean and well organized restaurant seating arrangements and decor. The environment of the interior is not overwhelming and makes the patron feel welcomed, comfortable, and relaxed. We were immediately asked if we wanted a booster or highchair for our 18 month old. We didn't have to wait long for that, nor our waitress. Our waitress was prompt, clean, and nice. The menu is far from overwhelming. It's organized by meal hours and what is offered. Each meal time (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) has its own kids menu in the section. We were here eating dinner. We all order surf and turf and shrimp for our son. We ordered an appetizer after the fact because we forgot, but the cook brought it out himself. For our appetizer, we ordered the bacon wrapped scallops with the Dijon mustard sauce. These were hot, fresh, and amazing flavors. well, start with what the kids ordered. My son got the kids 3 shrimp scampi and fries. The shrimp was hot in garlic butter, and the fries not so crispy but hot. Shrimp was perfectly cooked and was a hit with him. Our daughter ordered sirloin steak with snow crab, green beans, and fries. Again, the fries seemed not so crispy and hot. The greenbeans looked like they had half cooked bacon on them. The steak, ordered medium rare with sautéed mushrooms, was dry and overcooked. The sautéed mushrooms were just sweated and not really caramelized or cooked properly. The crab seemed sort of dry and overcooked but was palatable. My wife ordered the sirloin medium rare with sautéed onions, snow crab, baked potato, and greenbeans. Again, the green beans seemed to have half cooked bacon on them. The baked potato seemed pretty basic with cheese, bacon, and sour cream on the side. The steak was overcooked and dry. The crab on this plate wasn't entirely palatable, being rubbery and dry and seemingly overcooked. Lastly, my meal was the ribeye cooked medium rare, fried shrimp, daily vegetables, and the mash potatoes with brown gravy. The steak was perfectly cooked to a medium rare. More toward the rare side. The potatoes and gravy were simple red potatoes mashed with brown gravy, the fried shrimp was tempura fried served with a side of cocktail sauce, and the vegetables were the bacon wrapped asparagus. However, the asparagus we saw on the menu was a 4 dollar upcharge, so we asked for the daily veggie. Now, everything was served hot and fresh. However, I would make one suggestion to the cooks. Some prior seasoning on food would make this experience go a long way. The steaks had 0 seasoning on them. The potatoes were definitely not boiled in salt water, and the bacon used on the asparagus was flavorless. I would suggest maybe some salt and pepper on the steaks while cooking, boil the potatoes in salt water and mash with cream and cook the bacon wrapped asparagus in garlic butter then sear on the grill to give it the roasted flavor. For the green beans, maybe the bacon could be cooked to a crisp and chopped and not added until the greenbeans are ready to serve. This would add depth in flavor and texture. The crab legs need to be timed on the cook and cooked less in order to be less dry and more juicy and tender. Now, as far as the salad bar goes. the vegetables seemed fresh, clean, and ready to eat. There were plenty of options to choose from, and they even had soups and pastas. This is by far one of the best salad bars we have seen. It was nice to see that the employees were adding fresh veggies on it to keep the product rotated. We will be back to try breakfast as we have heard really good things from this. Chance to be redeemed...
Read moreI'm not typically a person that complains, I'm the type of person that will eat the wrong order and still tip well.. last night was a horrible experience and I feel the owners should know. My husband and I were excited to try this place, we are from Pinedale and we decided to take a last minute trip to Rock Springs to go grocery shopping and grab dinner with our 21 month old son. The hostess is terrible, there isn't a nice way to put it. She barely acknowledged us and when we got seated I asked for a high chair she returned with a booster seat..my husband tried to ask her for a high chair again and she ignored him so he went and got one himself. Food was okay waitress was very nice. My big problem is as we were walking back to the front to go pay - I was carrying our leftover container and my husband was carrying our son.. there was no visible wet floor sign and I SLIPPED and FELL smashing my leftover box busting a hole in the bottom. The hostess just stared at me with a blank almost irritated expression. My husband looked at her and said "oh it's not a big deal or anything " sarcastically. She said nothing when I got up. Then our waitress came up behind her and my husband asked if she could throw the container away and she asked if she could rebox it and I said no because some of the food now touched the floor. There was no apology or acknowledgement from the hostess. No sign. No care in the world. Another waitress came out to ask my husband for his signature on the reciept when we got to the car and SHE asked if I was okay and apologized. To the owners, your hostess sets the tone for the restaurant experience and because of her it started and ended very negatively. I don't think I'll ever go back. I am embarrassed for falling in front of a restaurant of people to be looked at like it was my fault. This morning I'm in pain and its a sour reminder. I'd also like to note that though I am only 31 but I had to get a total hip replacement at 25 for genetic reasons. Falls like that can pop an implant of out place or pull an implant apart. Signs are important. I'm not the lawsuit type but someone in the future might be due to something like this.
Be mindful. Hire people that give a damn about other people and your restaurant. My husband also noticed the hostess seat a few other tables saying absolutely nothing and just setting menus down and...
Read moreWe had reservations for 10/23 at 6:30p we arrived at our reservation time and still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. After being seated, we had drinks brought out and they were flat. They did make it up by getting us a drink on the house so that was nice. As we were placing our order, they informed us that they were out of certain items so that was pretty frustrating and they only had a certain menu available which probably could’ve been explained better considering it was our first time. After placing our order, we waited an 1 hour and a half for our food to be brought out to us and the presentation was nice but the quality of the food was no where up to parr… My husband ordered the steak and snow crab, I had a steak and my brother in law had pasta. It had no flavor and we paid a pretty penny for our food to only taste so bland. We could’ve cooked better steaks at home, sure, but we wanted to experience this new restaurant. We weren’t even full after eating our meals and ended up grabbing something else on our way home to make up for the tasteless dinner and disappointment. After having the snow crab (my husband shared with my brother in law and I) they both got heavily sick to their stomach. Based off previous reviews we’ve seen, it sounds like we aren’t the only ones. So maybe stay away from seafood at this location. Our server was great and everyone was kind there is no doubt about that just the wait time was too long and the prices were not great for the quality of the food. Everyone has been talking about this place and we were super excited to go. It sounds like the time to go is for the breakfast or lunch hour. I understand they are still new and getting things going but with this being said, we will most likely not be going back for the...
