Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Rockaway Township

Incredibly disappointed in first time experience in here. Josie S. was the girl who helped us; she couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge us with a hello or how are you today when walking in. On top of that, we bought quite a bit of their chocolate pastries and we didn't realize it until after we walked out due to what happened with her at the register. For example, we asked for 4 chocolate graham crackers and 2 Java Toffee crackers and we only got ONE OF EACH as opposed to the amount we wanted. She also almost forgot to give us a chocolate apple as well. We also received a pastry we didn't ask for or all the truffle flavors we requested. Disappointing. She got our phone number wrong at the register when asking if we wanted to enroll in their rewards program and we said sure. She didnt even attempt to rectify it and said she couldnt do anything to fix the phone number meaning we would have to remember not to remember our own phone number. I've worked with six POS systems and I asked her if she could just void and restart the order, she called the manager over and gave a huge attitude and tone of voice when telling her manager, "Is ther a way we can JUST. VOID. THE. WHOLE. ORDER" and gave the nastiest, snippiest tone of voice. Like, CHILD, you chose this job, it is up to you to make goodness out of your day and go with peace and balance in your life. We tried to remain quiet and pleasant regardless of our treatment. We won't be returning to this location ever again....

Good place for ice cream if you enjoy the mix ice cream : but I don’t recommend Cold Stone Creamery for Ice cream cakes, the barely have any ice cream and they topping them with powder cream not ice cream, I’m reporting this store to the town, was my son’s birthday yesterday and he was so sad when he realized there was no ice cream in the cake. The worst and more unpleasant experience is the lack of ownership when you make mistakes . They blamed it on me . So I walked in and I asked to the employee that was fixing the same fridge where the cakes were in and he very clear said those are the ICE CREAM CAKES. Like when you go to carvel or any other ice cream place ; you choose one from the fridge. I went to pay was 56 dollars for a medium cake and makes sense to be expensive because you paying quality ice cream. There is the scam THE ONLY ICE CREAM they put is a thin line between the layers of the cake. I was looking forward to make it my place since I recently move permanently to Rockaway but disappointed. Specially when I see my sons face . That wasn’t nice. Thank you . Just in case they reach out I will answer already I did spoke to the store and the manager and they didn’t care . The replied was that the ingredientes were listed in the label in very small letters, completely clueless about the product they sell . And wait this that is all they sell is ice cream . Thank you for not letting me do another...

My boyfriend always wants an ice cream cake from Cold Stone for his birthday (and Cold Stone is the only place that actually puts cake in their ice cream cakes), so I have been buying a cake from Cold Stone for the past 8 years. This is the best Cold Stone to buy a cake from. There are many other Cold Stone's closer to me ( live in Bernardsville) than this one, but I always order a cake from this specific, Rockaway, location because its cakes have tasted the best they ever have tasted here. When I had purchased my cakes in prior years from other locations, the cakes and mix-ins either tasted old, the ice cream tasted frostbitten, or it all just tasted old and frostbitten. This location has always tasted delicious, creamy and fresh! The staff there has always been pleasant and helpful, I've never had any issues with them. I've been coming to this location for a few years now and will continue to in the future.

Side note: their prices for their cakes are 100% reasonable, and this is coming from someone who was a cake decorator for 10 years (the only reason I don't make my own cake for my boyfriend is because he specifically asks for Cold Stone ice cream cakes). So everyone who complains about a price, go make your own...
