Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Rockford Township

I usually don't write bad reviews but I feel that I have had enough bad experiences at this store that I need to say something. On multiple occasions I have had my order have wrong or missing items at this location. Today I was missing a caesar wrap, I called the store and asked them if they could just refund the missing wrap as I was already home. I was told that it was not possible to do a partial refund and just to mention the manager's name when I came back for a wrap and smoothie. I did end up coming back later in the day, when I mentioned the name I was given they asked why I didn't get a refund. I told them that they couldn't give me one when I spoke with the person on the phone. They then told me that the person was no longer there. Again not entirely sure why that matters since that's what I was told to do. They ended up giving me the missing wrap and I did ask if it was possible to get a bowl rather than the smoothie since it was the same price and was told "absolutely not." Long story short, not sure why I'm being made the bad guy when I had to go back for my order in the first place. It doesn't help that this isn't the first time that my order has been wrong. Chloe the “manager” was incredibly rude and disrespectful. The first sandwich was cold and had hard avocado on it. We brought it up to a wonderful employee who happily helped to get the sandwich remade. He told me the sandwich was ok to throw out. The manager Chloe came over to make sure we weren’t “stealing” the first sandwich as “you aren’t allowed to have two.” The second sandwich Chloe made was thrown down in front of me and so full of sauce it was inedible. When asked to speak to the manager, Chloe refused to process my refund, refused to provide an alternative phone number to discuss it with someone else, and every attempt to discuss the situation ended with her mocking my voice and saying there was nothing wrong with my first sandwich or my second so she refused to remake a third sandwich. Awful service, mediocre food.

Stopped by on my way home after the gym. It was my first time there, and they weren’t busy, but I stood there for several minutes trying to decide what I wanted. At no time did any of the three teenagers ask if I needed help, asked if I had questions about the menu, or even say hello. Finally after I had decided what to get, I didn’t want to be rude, so instead of waving one of them down or yelling, “Excuse me?” I just tried making eye contact. They saw me but ignored me. Finally I went and stood directly in front of the cash register and made eye contact and one of the girls came over. Still, there was not the regular pleasantries one would expect from any fast food restaurant.

I may go back, because it looked like they had some healthy sandwich options, but I’d probably do drive through, and will stick to Smoothie King if I...
