Mineiros The Steakhouse — Restaurant in Rockland

Warning We ate here recently and discovered a disturbing trend that this restaurant is following. When/if you eat here, it is imperative that you check your bill. When we dined there, they automatically added a 20% gratuity to our bill. After I took out my credit card and paid, they returned the tab to me for me to sign, and right there on the receipt was a section to include a "tip". We saw this and were blown away, and we will most certainly never come back. My concern is that if the customers were less aware, they would most likely just pay the original charge, thinking it was the actual cost of their bill (not knowing that it is 20 percent higher based on the built-in gratuity) and then opt to pay the average 18 percent given at most restaurants. I could totally see someone like my mom or dad doing this (both in their 70's) and paying the cost of their meal plus a 38 percent increase over their original cost. I should also mention that we went up to the counter to receive our food and then carried our plates back to our table. The waitress only brought us our sodas and cleared our table after we left. I can't understand how they would think that might be worth a 38 percent tip. As I said, we will not be back and I wanted my followers (if they choose to patronize this establishment) to be aware. I say this without a shred of exaggeration, and without a shadow of a doubt. This was the absolute BEST experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant, bar none!!! The food was absolutely extraordinary. We choose to go with the buffet, and got the picanha (steak) from the rotisserie. All of the food was fresh, well seasoned, and grilled immaculately. The service was absolutely impeccable. Our server Marina was extremely, knowledgeable, friendly and overall just lovely. Just when I thought the experience couldn’t get better, we decided to order desserts for takeaway since they were about to close. I’ve often been disappointed with the taste of the rice pudding at other restaurants, but much to my delight they hit it out of the park. Before ordering I asked what ingredients they use, and just like my grandmother, they have the perfect recipe. The chocolate cake tastes just like my aunt’s, and is easily, easily the best chocolate cake I’ve ever eaten from a restaurant. I wish I could give them 10 stars out of 5!!!...

At the arrival the staff greet you with a nice smile 😊, offer you a table depending of the size of the family, the menu is very good, from the beginning we ordered a Woodbridge Moscato wine, very good, price very competitive, the Rodizio option is one of the greatest if you love to eat or eat a lot, Pietra was our server for the Rodizio, she was so nice, so humble, so pleasure, always with a nice smile, and establishing a chat with you, nothing personal, just having a nice conversation, even tho there were more costumer, every time she came to our table she make sure we were having a great time, she make sure to remember our names, is was a very nice experience. The only thing is that the meat was just a little low salt for my taste but nothing that a hint of salt 🧂 can fix, they have it available. The parking was good in front of the restaurant.
