Spicy Edamame — Restaurant in Rockland

Ordered takeout lunch special with the General Gau Chicken, with the pork fried rice, egg roll and a spring roll.

Chicken was dry, overcooked and not enough sauce, overall not very appetizing. Texture similar to the Griswold family Christmas turkey.

Spring roll was average as well as the egg roll but was also overcooked and dry.

Food came out pretty quick, under 10 minutes, which you think would be a blessing rather than a curse but the end result on how this was overcooked and dry sounds like they're running their operation pretty white hot which is a bit too much to be a good thing.

The fried rice was the stand out but not by much, I had high hopes but unfortunately it did not pan out.

I went here for two reasons, first is I really wanted to find a good General Gau Chicken spot and so far nothing near my home is any good. Second was the convenience getting there and from.

Pretty sure I won't be returning anytime soon or at all. Maybe for the sushi if the family wants to...

I love this place! It's the kind of food that makes you want to leave a glowing public recommendation midway through your takeout dinner and wish you had the forethought to take a picture of the beautiful presentation before tearing into it like an underfed wildebeest. First of all, the lady at the front desk is always super cute and nice. Delivery is always legit- orders are always right, if you ask for extra duck sauce- you get extra duck sauce, food is always delivered hot and fresh! I like that their menu is really inventive; they offer really fun twists on sushi like "sushi corn dogs" and "sushi pizza" ...the "monkey brains" appetizer isn't as scary as it sounds and is a must try for avocado lovers! This is an experience based review rather than a review of the food (which was perfectly acceptable and we had no complaints).

I ordered delivery via Grubhub from this restaurant for the first time yesterday. Five hours later (around 930pm) I got a call from a woman from the restaurant who didn't speak English very well claiming I didn't tip the driver and wanted me to tip. I opened up my email receipt from GrubHub to check and then told her I absolutely did tip the driver (20%). She eventually said okay and hung up the phone.

Outside of the fact that I did tip already, I was appalled that a restaurant would call up a customer to demand a tip. I mean, if I had decided not to tip for whatever reason, would calling me back up to demand a tip change my mind? Probably not.
