I’ll start with the food and then explain why I won’t be returning. I ate here twice in the last week, first was a chicken burrito, second was the puff tacos with beef and chicken. The food is ok, an americanized version of Mexican food with little spice or flavor. If you like lots of Mexican flavor, look elsewhere.
Why I won’t return: during these covid times each business seems to operate how they feel is appropriate, right? For example, the coffee shop a few doors down from Don Quixote’s has stayed fully open regardless of covid rules, with people sitting inside and out. Sometimes restaurants set up tables that are distanced for inside dining even though it technically isn’t allowed, sometimes you gotta eat elsewhere and that’s fine too. Today while in line paying for my food, I glance to the dining room and see some tables with chairs on top and others with people sitting at them, so I ask the girl helping me if I can sit at the booth adjacent to the register that appeared to be open...she said yes. After 10 minutes of eating chips and salsa while waiting for my food, my tacos arrive and I prepare to take my first bite. That’s when the owner comes up in a panic telling me somewhat loudly that I can’t eat here, her eyes bugging out of her head and seemingly in disbelief that someone would be this audacious. I explained that I was told by an employee it was ok, at which point she immediately hustles to the kitchen to lecture her staff while I pack up my food; meanwhile everyone in line is turned around and staring at me like I’m stupid. She finishes scolding her people, walks across the dining room, holds the door open, and just stares at me while I walk out. No “ I’m sorry for the misunderstanding, they shouldn’t allowed you to sit“, no “I’m really scared about my business being shut down from Covid violations, I hope you understand“. Nothing. Her lack of tact and people skills left me embarrassed, humiliated, and ultimately angry. Bye Felicia, I’m off to El Azteca next time I want...
Read moreI am not one to write reviews, however I am hoping this will help make a change. My fiance and I have been looking for a new Mexican restaurant and came across this one by a google search. Decided to try it out because of the great reviews. Walked in around 8pm and there were two girls behind the counter. There was no greeting and their facial expressions were as if they could care less if we were there. We ordered both two cheese enchilada meals and a mini chimichunga. While Girl #1 is making our food, she is having a full on non-work related conversation with the Girl #2, not paying attention and taking her sweet time. Then Girl #2 rang us up for only two enchilada meals. After paying, by fiance asked if that included the chimichunga, which it did not. Girl #2 kept repeating over and over again in a joking/unprofessional voice to Girl #1 "why didn't you tell me." I then noticed our food was heated up by what looks like a microwave. After receiving our first plate, we noticed there were no chips. I then asked Girl #1 if they could add some more. She then replied with "Sure" and then rolled her eyes. I get up to go grab forks and there is only one. I then walked to the register when Girl #1, #2 and another girl were talking and they looked upset because I interrupted their non-work related conversation while I ask for a fork. Luckily the food was okay I guess, definitely not authentic.
I work very long and strenuous days and even up until the minute we close, I give superb customer service. I believe everyone should have a great experience even if it's not your career choice and even if it's at the end of the day. You never know how hard they've worked and why they decided to come in. I have never had such bad service and will probably not...
Read moreSadly I will not be coming back to this location. We ordered online last Thursday from the website and were told the food would be ready in 20 minutes. When we got there 20 minutes later, no one acknowledged me for at least 5 minutes. When I was finally able to get someone's attention, she told me my order had not been started yet. So I said, ok, I'll go pick up my son's dinner and come back. 15 minutes later, I come back and am still ignored. I flag down someone that looks like she may be the manager and explain that I had ordered my food was told it would be ready in 20 minutes and that it had been 45 minutes at this point. She proceeded to tell me, the employee that accepted the order made a mistake putting 20 minutes and that they should have said 45. She said that they were very busy and that on Fridays the wait is an hour & 20 minutes. Then she says "I said I was sorry and she's making your order right now". I told her I was extremely disappointed and that we'd been coming there for over 10 years to which she replies "a lot of people come here". What the heck! What kind of customer service is this? And from the manager? I also submitted a message online but got no response. The food is typically very good but I can't justify spending our money to eat at a place that clearly does not value their customers. ...
