I’ve ate here for 30 years and never had an issue until today. When I went to pay I realized my card was gone. I asked if I could type my card number in because it would take 20 minutes to call the bank to get my card put on my phone for Apple Pay and I don’t have that much time seeing I would be late for work and my food would then be cold. I showed her the last 4 digits of my card number so I could type it in and they refused. I would understand maybe if it was a first time customer but I’ve ate here for THIRTY YEARS. Some kind man offered to pay for our food but I couldn’t do that.. not his fault that my card was stolen or that they wouldn’t let me pay with my own money. I work from home and had 20 minutes till I needed to clock in, I have no time now to cook my kids food so I’m going to be late for work due to that. Just caused a huge inconvenience on a day that hasn’t been too easy in the first place. I’m just shocked. As often as we eat here.. and showing them my last 4 of my card numbers with my name on it, to not allow me to pay with...
Read moreIs it Google's fault that House of China loses 1 star? Nah. I would probably rate 4 stars anyway. See, this isn't the first time we have planned our dinner on House of China being open, then when we go to order it turns out they are closed. I know from experience that it is super easy to insure that you're hours of operation are upldated. Google even sends an alert, "Update your holiday hours blah blah blah..." It literally takes seconds to do. Those seconds prevent people from having the discussion that ends with, "House of China is open. We don't even have to get out our comfies to go pick it up." Google says you are open. You are not open. That means that my family is now eating special Christmas peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Num num. But, I still give 4 stars because it is Christmas and a part of me is glad that nobody is spending their Christmas preparing food for those of us that really want...
Read moreI ordered dinner for two, shrimp egg foo young, it used to be three pieces , they reduced it to two, didn’t send the rice. The fried rice that came with the loMein was like mushy rice flavored pudding, now the low-mein was delicious but there was three cups of rice and not even one cup of noodles, six small pieces of chicken. The wonton soup was okay at best. Egg rolls were dry but not inedible . 45 bucks for a big plate of disappointment . The owner/worker kept back tracking saying if you live close enough they will recook our meal. Why not just be decent and do it right...
